Re: Lights of America does not play well with GFCI

Are the ballasts magnetic or electronic? I ran into a problem with using too many magnetic ballasts on an inverter. I ended up having to break up the circuit so that only half of them came on with each switch. Even though the total load was well within the specs of the inverter, I couldn't turn them...

Re: Safety in photovoltaic roofs feeding the grid ?

We toured 2 installations last week that had basically what you describe. On both installations the inverters are synced (sp?) with TVA. In the event of a power loss the inverters shut down, preventing what you describe. I asked about power failures, would you have power? The owners both replied tha...

Another approach, put a hour meter on the diesel compressor.
The total number of hours worked - the hours on the diesel = the number of hours run from turbine.
Just my $.02 worth.

I've noticed exactly the same thing, same place also. I get Mountian Dew, and the first sip gets my upper lip after that it's ok. wonder what would happen if I used a straw?. Time for a little R&D.

Re: Carbon Monoxide?

Last fall I tried to light the pilot flame in my gas heater in my shop. Everytime time I let go of the button on the valve, after lighting the pilot, it went out. Finally called the gas company, they cleaned the birds nest outta the flue. It was all that was wrong, gas man said it was a common probl...

Re: Video Surveillance Software

The stuff we use here at the school has the motion detecting built into the DVR. This is where we got it. http://www.supercircuits.com/Digital-Video-Recorders/ All the Security DVR's I've seen has this feature. What it does is pixlate the screen with 1"x1" squares and you select which areas y...

Years ago a friend worked for TVA as a electrician, they had a rat catching contest. The object of the game was to catch as many as possible, paint them (electricians were orange) and release them. The only rule was you cannot repaint one that was captured by another trade group. After 2 months ther...

Win7 and search engine

I went to a friends place of business yesterday, his wife said they got a new office computer and she wanted to use Dogpile as the default search engine. No problem, right! Guess again, even though I deleted the 2 google and one bing, it still went to google. The search settings said dogpile "not av...

I use Mikroebasic from Mikroelectronica, http://www.mikroe.com/eng/product_downloads/download/
They give you several sample programs with the free download.
As for flashing a led, depending on pic , it would look something like this

main
gpio.1 = 1
delay_ms(500)
gpio.1 = 0
delay_ms(500)
goto main

Do you have an old 480v to 24v transformer?
Wire it to the 277, it should give you about 14v out.
