Re: UL listing...dubious assurance

I bought an extension cord at a tool sale held at our civic center from one of those traveling vendors. It was marked 16/3 and was 50' long. About a year later I heard about them in the news being sued by several customers. Seems they purchased the same cords and, during proper usage, the cords had ...

Re: Fluorescent Lighting

The way I understand it, the back panel, the one that covers the ballast, must be grounded. Maybe an issue of the paint not allowing that. The reason for that panel needing a ground is it helps the gasses ionize in the tube, much like the band around one of those U shaped strobe light tubes. http://...

Re: Ni Cad battery packs to Ni-MH

I had them rebuild an old 12v cordless drill battery.
http://www.primecell.com/nimhconv.htm

The conversion went from ni-cad to ni-mh. I used the drill (Makita) for roughly 3 more years, untill it committed suicide by jumping off a 6' stepladder. I used the original ni-cad charger.

Re: Forum Login

Well.. On my home 'puter win7 IE8, it's ok. It was my work 'puter (xp ie8) acting up, no changes I'm aware of. It retains the password for 2 other sites I frequent.

Edit: It must be my work 'puter, I don't know what has been changed because I haven't made any.

Re: cannot get usb to LPT adaptor to work.

I have a couple of USB type adaptors, and they all needed specific drivers. http://www.wouxun.us/item.php?item_id=217&category_id=47 This one was very touchy to get working, the driver had to be loaded in a specific sequence. And the factory driver that came with the cable didn't work, I called the ...
