Re: Resistor Color Codes

To make things harder, there were a few resistor manufacturers that graded the body color (light grey, beige, light blue, lightr brown...) as a temperature or something else cohefficient. Cannot remember now what it was.... :???:

Re: Water Leak

Oh, yes, the aspirin method... but that is when you already have a puddle... right at the aspirin location. I mentioned differential pressure sensing as a method to avoid. Would you be happy with a pair of parallel bare wires taped on the bottom of pipes ? Anywhere a leak develops should reach the w...

Re: Water Leak

Hi Len. Differential pressure sensing finds difficulty in discerning a leak from normal water usage. Running a bare wire pair to sense moisture, attached/taped along the belly of all accessible pipes, could sense leaks to shut-off a supply solenoid valve. Additionally, human occupancy sensor(s) in t...

Re: need help to find blue led bulb

I would replace the sockets and get rid of the planned overpriced replacement design.
Like printers cheaper than their ink... forcing to spend abuse prices for ink.

Re: HVAC Missing 'C' wire

Hi Len. Been dealing with HVAC hiccups in three rental properties in the last two months; so I have some fresh memories... The "C" (common) wire is the grounded secondary terminal of the 120-to-24 VAC transformer. If you have a way to run a wire from any furnace chassis -perhaps metal duct/pipe- to ...

Re: Microphone in a bubble...

an electret mic is not the highest fidelity options on todays market anyway. Its handy because it can be used with Voltage boas rather than current bias. Most of these could probably be waterproofed by simply putting tape over the sound port and sealing the electrical contacts in epoxy. They may al...

Microphone in a bubble...

Hi.
What material would be less detrimental to fidelity for an electret microphone enclosed behind/inside a waterproof, corrosion proof membrane ?
A rigid bubble, a flexible bubble, a silicone, a plastic, a metal, a cellophane, a rubber, a deflated bubble, an inflated one... ?

Re: USB-C, 100 watts?

USB is universal serial bus (and upper side band). A data connection. Paired with supply for convenience. You can build a USB cable with AWG14? copper conductors to provide 20 Amperes for supply. For what device as source ? A USB source is not meant to provide power, it is meant for serial data comm...

Re: How do I add an attachment

Hi Dacflyer. Hope you are dry by now.

Photobucket decided to block access from third parties a couple of years ago; and I closed my account. Have they resumed access as originally ? Can you please attach here an image from your Photobucket the way you describe ?
