Re: Drone?

Hard to imagine an eagle not getting whacked by a blade during capture. The drone will do lots of throttling of its motors to maintain level, including flipping upside down. Feathers would fly!

Re: Drone?

Very nice, dacflyer! Having trouble getting GPS satellites. Need 6 satellites to get good GPS lock, but I'm only getting 4 or 5, depending on location. There's a 1 inch square ceramic antenna that some folks say can be replaced with one with gain. Looking over Digikey, and find there's a selection: ...

Re: Drone?

Ha! Similar story here dacflyer- The DJI was crashed into a building, and "broke" the camera gimbal so it would not tilt up/down. I bought it cheap, as a broken drone, but fixed it quickly. The tilt simply had its limit tang jammed over the stop. I "unjammed" it, and it's fine. I'm still learning ho...

Drone?

Who has experienced these remarkable gadgets so far?
Picked up a used DJI Phantom 2 Vision, and can't help but be impressed by the technology-
5.8 GHz drone control, 2.4 GHz video link, fly autonomously between waypoints, GPS, Return Home, and HD video recording. Way cool!

Re: Self entertaining, entertainment system!

Ah yes, the old Air Force solution: "R & R" (Remove and Replace). Usually effective, unless your new device has the same problem as the old one. (sigh)

Re: Win 10 blank screen

From what I hear from those that know, Win 10 updates are forced on you. You don't get to pick whether they get installed or not.
You're probably wise to wait and see before switching to Win 10.

Re: Win 10 blank screen

Thanks dacflyer!
Resolved!
What happened is Win10 was trying to install an update. After waiting with the blank screen (about 20 minutes), a display came on saying, "Almost Finished!". The whole update took about half hour.
Scheesh.

Win 10 blank screen

Been googling (on the old XP machine) this problem with a newer Win 10 Gateway desktop, but to no avail. It had been working fine for many months since the Win8 to Win10 upgrade, but now this: Powers up to the background scene, with a responsive cursor, but no icons or desktop appears. Tried: 1) CTL...

Re: Cool Clock!

This was ancient history- happened in the 60's. Besides the broken CRT and a few tubes, the front panel was mangled. I did fix it years later, and it could have won the "Ugliest O-Scope" contest!

Re: Cool Clock!

Outstanding collection, dacflyer!
Had a homebuilt EICO 5" scope that worked great until I tripped on the line cord, and sent it to the concrete floor.

Re: Vernitron Transducer for 40hz Branson ultrasonic cleaner

Steve- I think you'll find replacing the transducers difficult because of the proprietary adhesives Branson claims to use for attachment of the ceramic to the steel tub. That energy-coupling joint is what makes the whole transduction effect possible, and getting your hands on the ceramic elements is...

Random comments:

hehe- haklesup: "Audrino". I wonder if they considered that name before settling on, "Arduino"?

The Arduino does have a "Serial Monitor" output also. Handy for debugging code.

I wish there was a Fry's in every city!
