Re: IR sensor
Thanks Stephen, that looks like the baby. Now I am looking for a source. I have checked several places, both normal supply catalogs, and surplus houses. No luck yet. The problem is I only need a few at this point. -- Thanks

Re: IR sensor
I need a motion detector, not a light detector. That is why I am looking for IR sensors, like used in security lights, etc.

Re: IR sensor
My application is very similar to the conventional detectors for turning on night lights for security, etc. If I could find out what IR sensor they use, that would be great, since I need several of them. Using them as they come in that application along with the price, doesn’t cut it. For my prototy...

IR sensor
Thanks all for the help in the past. Now I came up with another Q. --- Need help selecting an IR sensor. I realize there are a lot of IR sensors, and I have checked several and not come up with what I need. The ones you normally find are two wire devices. The ones found in motion detection equipment...

A linear gate?
Anybody have any experience using a CMOS gate (4001,4011) in a linear mode? How well does it work?

Low Pwr OpAmp
I am looking for the lowest power Op-Amp I can find at a reasonable price. Supply voltage 2 ½ to 5 volt. Prefer standard dual inline package. --- Thanks All.

Artificial fire sounds
I have cut and carried wood for almost seventy years. I am now getting lazy, and our new home has a very nice (gas) fireplace. We enjoy it very much, but it just isn’t the same. Thinking about building a circuit to at least simulate some of the noise of a real wood fire. You know, the crackle, pop, ...

Latching Relay
Quick question on Latching Relays. I need a latch that does not need continuous power. I want to be able to pulse it on, and pulse it off. In looking at latching relays on Goldmine and AllElectronics, they have single and double coil units. In their descriptions I find it unclear how they operate. I...

Re: Dew Point
Hey Will, I think you are on to something. I can take it one step further. If I have a monitoring chamber connected to the chamber of concern so they are basically the same temperature, with a very small airflow at all times in the monitoring chamber, now all I have to do is measure the humidity in ...

Re: Dew Point
Sorry, boy did I mess that up. Would you believe I want the fan to turn off when the enclosure temperature is 45 degrees, and the DP is 40. Got my numbers reversed.

Re: Dew Point
Sorry if I made it confusing. I have an enclosure that I will be moving air thru with a fan. This system will be getting air from the outside environment. I want to shut the system down (turn the fan off) before the DP gets close to the temperature of the enclosure. I live in the NW, and we have a l...

Re: Dew Point
Chris, now you got me thinking, and that is scary. --- For this application one possibility would be to find a low power Peltzer junction and mount the hot side to the wall that I am concerned about. Now if I mount a moister detector to the cold side, and pump enough power to keep the temperature ac...

Re: Dew Point
Chris keep up the ideas, however you lost me on the last paragraph. How can the fan increase and decrease the humidity over the sensor to make it more or less sensitive? I can maybe see if the fan added heat to the airflow, it would decrease the humidity, is that what you are thinking? That however ...
