Re: ok,, New Project time,,,

Funny enough, I went in search of a more discrete version of a graph/VU driver and came up with the same one Janitor Tzap posted above (go to the base URL of the picture and search for "VU meter LM324") in order to customize the resistor chain to deal with the non-linear sensor. The quick way to get...

My first "Walkman" (generic unit) included its own FM Stereo cassette adapter that had little pin pads in the cassette and pins that stuck up out of the cassette well. It worked fairly well, except the contacts would get dirty quite easily. I may still have that in a box somewhere....

Re: ok,, New Project time,,,

i am about at my wits end on this.. Grrrrr i was doing some more testing,, the output maxes out at 4.08v at about 78% of full. anything beyond that is the same. there is no way to tweak the sensor as it snaps onto the dial face ( it's isolated from the tank. ) i think that will be my main obstacle ...

Here's another strange device that never caught on.... (image) Here's the full AD: http://blog.modernmechanix.com/bone-fone/ Signed: Janitor Tzap I had a girlfriend (long time ago) who had this. Worked pretty well as long as you could get the speakers to sit on your clavicles. The biggest drawback ...

Re: Something Wrong with Coupling Capacitor

The role of a capacitor in the signal path is a complex one, but it can be most easily explained as the two roles of 1.) blocking DC and 2.) frequency control. DC blocking is just that, the capacitor prevents DC from passing through the signal chain. If DC were to get through, it would further bias ...

Re: Sysop Note: Logon Amnesia

I've had this happen only once or twice, and that was when there was an update and EVERY ONE was having that problem. I use Win7, Win8, and Android. Browsers are either IE or Chrome. Now, if I don't use a system for more than, let's say 2-3 weeks, I'll have to login again, but I stay logged in after...

PIC 18F series Assembly language

Does anyone here know how to program the PIC18F series in assembly language? My nephew is going through his college course and the professor is big on flow charts but very sparse on actual code. If anyone is willing to help, I'll detail the project in future posts. Yes, been to Google and the pic fo...
