Re: Odd Commercial Products.........

Heck, I even scrolled back through the pages to see if that was posted. Must have scrolled past it before the image loaded. "Sometimers Syndrome" That condition which tends to become more pronounced as age progresses, where the afflicted repeats things, many times more frequently the older or more e...

Re: Technology Backfire?

Hmm... Not really, just deductive reasoning following all the info presented so far. About the closest I've come is with my last car, a 2001 Chrysler 300M, when certain passengers would use the personal interior lights while I was driving (all the while being told to NOT use them while I'm driving -...

Re: Technology Backfire?

Temps aren't supposed to be that extreme, 20's F (I'm only about 3 hours or so from Len) won't strain the battery much unless it was already on the cusp. Just for S's & G's, at night, leave your keys (however many sets) at the far end of the house away from the car. Then go out and inspect for any l...

Don't know if this is such a good idea....... Pancake Maker Conveyor Belt for your Home Kitchen https://removeandreplace.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/pancake-maker-conveyor-belt-for-home-kitchen.jpg The best part about this machine is that it’s all automated. Pour in the fat free batter and hit t...

Re: Technology Backfire?

It's amazing that the old cars (pre-any computer control) could sit for over a month and still start. Even my old 1985 Caprice Estate Wagon with "computer controlled carburetor" (not really computer, I think it was logic controlled via feedback from the O2 sensor) could go over a month before showin...

Re: Technology Backfire?

Out of curiosity, what's the current draw when the car is turned off just sitting without anyone in it? Even with a modest draw in order to keep certain systems alive, which incidentally should be in power saving mode individually, the battery should last for quite a long time - definitely more then...

Just when I thought you can't do anything more with bread..... The Defibrillator Toaster https://removeandreplace.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/Defibrillator-Toaster.jpg It’s about time someone came up with a fresh take on the vital machine that warms our bread every morning, the Defibrillator Toa...

Re: surge voltages

That was my sneaky way of calling out the spam. I recognized the type of link even before I checked it out. (Yep, same type!) Well, at least it started a conversation! (We could keep this one and get rid of the OP's 2nd reply. Could still be useful.) And yeah, shinny paper is horrible in most cases....

Posting the same thing in multiple places, ie, this forum, other tech forums, places like Instructables, different groups on Facebook, well, you get the idea.

Re: Television Conundrum.......

If the pic tube is going, even old time gamers won't want it. As tempting as it may be to fix it, it's at EOL.

Do you have hazardous household waste / electronics disposal day in your neck of the woods? We have them, like, twice a year where I live. Maybe hold on til then?

Re: surge voltages

It's been Brick Wall since sometime in the 90's when I first read about them in Popular Electronics.

And it may cost more, but you, your children, grandchildren and maybe even great-grandchildren will have it. Try that with a regular surge supressor.

Re: surge voltages

Crowbar circuit, MOV, power strip surge supressor, or one of the ones I really want, Brick Wall. See http://www.Brickwall.com for details.
