Re: NV Mag, Mar 2004 Issue, Non Receipt

Woops. I just got a new router and it uses a funky remote admin on port 8080. I have to change the port for the weather station.

Re: NV Mag, Mar 2004 Issue, Non Receipt

Hello,
All you have to do is email Nuts and Volts and tell them that you havent received the March issue yet. Make sure you include all your info (I would just type in everything on the mailing label that is located on previous magazines that you have receieved).
You could also be experiencing s...

Re: Tables in webpages

The spacer.gif is used to make the table size correctly. That means that if the spacer.gif was 5x200 then the table would size to 5x200. This also means that the spacer.gif would have to be transparent so the user could see the background yellow_lines.gif.
You could also make the table size withou...

Re: can visual basic control serial or usb port power?

Mr. Dale Y,
According to the webpage http://www.logix4u.net/inpout32.htm you can have full port access in windows 2000 and XP. The dll uses a win 2k / XP system driver to access the parallel port. Re: can visual basic control serial or usb port power?

I believe it would be easier to use the parallel port for controling relays.
The following links contain some good info on vb parallel port programming:
http://www.logix4u.net/ http://www.lvr.com/parport.htm
http://www.logix4u.net/parallelport1.htm http://www.logix4u.net/paralleltest.gif <<...

Re: Please Help - My Power supply broke

I think what Mr. Kincaid was saying is that when you disconnected the transformer, the inductive kickback killed the output section of the powersupply. Now if the output section has a diode in parallel to the output or a diode bridge on the output then the kickback should not have killed the PS.
...

Re: Best camera recomendation for xmas train?

Hello,
You might try looking at www.rc-cam.com for your x-10 cam modifications. That website has plans for making a half wave antenna for the camera. I have done this for mine and it works great. I mounted my camera on a small remote controled car and the signal quality is great.
Harrison

Re: Best camera recomendation for xmas train?

The reason why X-10 used the stereo plug approach was so they could make money off of the instant on X-10 camera. The instant on only switched the transmitter on and off while it left on the camera so there would be no turn on delay. The regular xcam would switch on and off the camera and the transm...

Take a look at this website: http://www.rentron.com/Products/SI-Pro.htm it has a ir interface for basic stamp programming. It looks like it would work for what you want to do.
Harrison
