Re: Germanium Transistors Comming Back Soon???

What are your current requirements?
Normal 2 cell flashlight bulbs may require 250 or more mA. operating current,
the inrush current can be 30 or more times this value.
If I remember right some JFET's do turn on at lower voltages.
Hope this helps.

Re: need 'FND 507' 7-segment display eagle library

You seem to already have Eagle. FND500/507 both have the same pin arrangement. Pins are arranged 5 on top and 5 on bottom. Configuration start in lower left, edge not serrated is pin 1, moving right to 2, 3, 4 ,5 spaced .1". upper row starting from right moving left is 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 also .1" spacin...

Re: Where does the magnetic field go???

When you disconnect an inductor, the magnetic field which was present collapses. Thereby inducing a voltage of opposite polarity, the magnitude of which can be very large. Note that most designs with DC relays use a reverse diode to dump the induced voltage., to protect the device used to to control...

Re: old copies of EEM

Nothing is listed as commodity codes.
The product selection guide lists products with a 4 digit number
for various product groups.
Sorry.

Re: old copies of EEM

Do you still need data from EEM (Electronic Engineers Master Catalog.
I still have all four volumes for 1987/88.
Please advise. Hope I can help.

Re: Low Current contacts

Having been involved with industrial controls.
Your low current contacts probably suffer from oxidization.
Rules of thumb for butt contacts current should be about 20 mA.
for low current use wiping contact switches and /or bifurcated contacts.
Hope this helps.

I know this is not the correct place for my query.
Could not find any place to ask, How do you upload a schematic
or other drawing to this forum?
Thanks.

Re: Secret to using pure carbide drill bits revealed

Solid carbide drills should only be used in a drill press. Drill press quill run out will dictate the smallest drill size practical. Most small drills should be operated at maximum speed available from drill Press. Precision drill presses are made, but rather pricey. But will usually give the30,000 ...

Re: Cable Ties That Break Way Too Easy!

If you don't like the cheap cable ties use a better brand. Panduit comes to mind, others that are marked as nylon are usually good. Some brands are UV resistant, are usually black, and labeled as UV resistant. Do use a tie wrap tool, adjusted for best tension, it's easy too over tension. Nylon does ...

Re: HANNY Switching Power Supplies

Cheap Chinese Switch mode power supplies.
Very few will start without some load.
Look for bad electrolytic caps, try to use better quality than Chinese,
I have found several defective caps just by observation.
Good luck.

Have you looked at Deionized water characteristics. It has decreasing conductance until
its purity is high enough for the water to become highly reactive.

Re: connecting a 3 phase (480v ac) motor

12 leads from a 3 phase motor suggest it can also be wired for 240 volt 3 phase.
Quite often the numbers on/of the wires is inherent in the wire insulation.
The wiring diagram is usually on the nameplate of the motor.
Good luck.

Re: Where does the magnetic field go???

Your magnetic field collapses when you remove the current. In larger inductors, e.g. electro-magnetic brake coils used in industrial apps. can retain the magnetic field for a considerable length of time. Sometimes to the detriment of the app., my experience with a brake coil using 220 Volt D. C. whi...

Re: ultrasonic cleaners

RE; Ultrasonic cleaning. Those that I know of use about40KHz. I own a Heathkit it is about 100 Watts and I beleive about 40 KHz. Electronics Now issue of March 1993 published an article for construction of a 3/4 gallon ultrasonic cleaner. Both these units used piezoelectric transducers. Somewhere in...
