Need help with center tap Xformer
I need help understanding how current flows in a center taped transformer. If the primary side has positive on the top and negative on the bottom then primary current would flow counterclockwise for this cycle. On the secondary side the top would be positive and the bottom would be negative. On the ...

Re: TV Trouble 2
Hi Edd there has been a small change since the last post. The original TV is gone, but I was given another Zenith that has the same problem. It’s a later model 1995 (SR2573DT), but I think the inside is the same. I went back through your previous posts and did everything you said. I found the Identi...

TV Trouble 2
I posted a topic about a year ago about a Zenith TV I was trying to troubleshoot. I had to put it on hold to take care of other things. Now I am ready to fix it. Edd Whatley was helping me and I would like to know if Edd is still available.
Thanks,
Brad.

older power supply problems
I just got an older Power Designs Power Supply Model 6050A. When I turn it on the fault light flashes and when I check the output voltage with my meter I get nothing as I turn the voltage up. On the back of the unit it has some instructions and mentions the flashing fault light and something about o...

Light-dependent resistor
Can someone tell me what a Light-dependent resistor is? It was mentioned in a book I was reading, but the book doesn't say what it is. It also mentions its light coefficient. What's that?
Thanks for any help,
Brad

Re: TV Trouble
Thanks for the responses. I started to troubleshoot the TV everything checked out, but I got stuck at the point where you said to use the ground of the tuner for reference. I don't know where the tuner is. Please send help.
Thanks,
Brad

TV Trouble
I have a ten year old Zenith TV and the picture started shrinking, and would then pop back up. Now the picture is reduced to a small thin, very bright line. There is still sound and it looks like you can see some movement in the line. Does anyone know what the problem is and if it can be fixed?
Th...

Looking for electronic components
I’m looking for some electronic components that are mounted on pieces of plastic, and the leads are soldered to posts. The components snap onto a board and then you can hook wires up to the posts to build a circuit. Hickok made the system I saw, but they do not make them anymore. I believe that ther...

Does a choke look like a resistor?
Does a choke look like a resistor? I have what looks like a green resistor and has color bands; brown, brown, black, gold. I was told that it is a 33mH choke. Is this true, and if it is, how do read them?
Thank you,
Brad
