ok, i think i got it now.. if i understand it right, i think i had this problem once when i tried to light a infra red led and a red led, for some reason i was not able to run them in parallel, but they did work in series, my guess is that one draws more power from one than the other ?? No, it is n...

Re: VGA signal 'splitter' ?
This is perfect. I only really have one other question. How do I send only the portion of the screen I want to each satellite screen? I imagine I need to somehow define a window inside of the 'bigger picture' in terms of pixels and then only that portion would get sent on port 1 to screen 1 for exa...

Well, Pico Scopes start at $400. The data loggers they make (which is apparently my goal, in their terms) Start at $190. I would say $100 -$150. If I can't find something is this range, I will just forgo and use the old fashioned way...Measure and write it down periodically (LOL)! There are a numbe...

Re: help with pic
Most PIC ADCs are 10bit, so 1 bit is 5/1024 or 0.00488V. A little math can convert, or you can calibrate your divider circuit. I really don't undrstand how you would program that into the pic. Several compilers offer floating point routines, but of course this takes a lot of memory. The usual alter...

Re: High Voltage Power Supply Unit Article
I've been trying out the Eagle Cadsoft free version but the board size is limited and it looks like it would cost about $600 to get the schematic, pcb layout and autoroute functionality from EAGLE Standard (Limitations: 4 signal layers, 160x100mm routing area). Cadsoft does have a "Not For Pro...

Re: Front Panels
I didn't leave it out, here you go: All of the panels that I posted are around $30.00 each. (Standard turn around time of 5 days, more for expedites) .... Perhaps the other posters will provide pricing (or labour time) for their methods? Comments Welcome! Thanks, and yes, it would be nice if others...

Re: Front Panels
Recently I've turned to my PC and CAD programs that are emailed to a CNC shop. This is the minimum equipment or supplies that anyone would need. "Hobby Outsourcing"! The resulting metal panels feature high accuracy, tough anodized finish, and paint filled engraved text and logos. Comments...

just out of currioucity,,is there something simple like this for alpha-numerics displays or no ? No, it won't be quite as simple. There are two kinds of alpha numeric displays that could be used. The 16 segment display might lend itself to this solution with twice as many dip switches. http://www.e...

I found This Article interesting. It is written by a manufacturer and thus a little self serving (examples reference their device), but at the same time relatively unbiased.
