Re: For Sale: PIC Microcontrollers

I've now listed the chips on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0420657804

It contains a photo and all the part numbers with their corresponding quantities.

For Sale: PIC Microcontrollers

Hi, I've been carrying this box of about 40 PIC microcontrollers for about a year. I never got around to using them. Hopefully someone here could find better use for them. The box contains various PIC16, PIC24 (8 bit) and dsPICs(16 bit). They're all in DIP packaging (great for hobbyists), stored in ...

Re: Really Simple High Quality Audio Amplifier

@MrAl: Thanks, I'll try doing that. @Robert Reed: When attaching the speaker straight into my laptop, the speaker isn't loud and sound is very faint, so I decided to build an amp. Yeah, I know that the chip is only 2 watts and this confuses me since the speaker is rated at 60 watts, but the amplifie...

Re: Really Simple High Quality Audio Amplifier

Thanks for the tip MrAl. By bridge configuration, is that like one LM386 in series to another LM386 (the output of one LM386 feeding into another)? The main problem I had with the LM386 is that there was a lot of distortion (hisses and scratches) in the sound. I had the amp hooked up to my laptop, s...

Really Simple High Quality Audio Amplifier

Hi, haven't posted here in a while. Thought I just wanted to share my design for what's probably the simplest amplifier one could build. I got a 60 watt 6" inch speaker and wanted to build an amplifier to make use of it. This was my first time working on an analog circuit, so I searched on Goog...

Same thing with me. Must be some something that Google is doing with their servers. It should be back to normal now.

Thank an Engineer

I was looking through my email and TI has a video series for thanking engineers: http://www.ti.com/thanks Some of the stuff is kind of funny actually. I just thought it was interesting since I thought engineers were unappreciated. You can send in some suggestions and ideas: https://community.ti.com/...

Lol, guys take it easy. The guy just said that PICs might looks like a good point to start. He wasn't trying to start a uC war, no need to bring in Ford, Chevy, Democrats, Republicans, etc. As for C18, yeah, it's still called C18: http://www.microchip.com/stellent/idcplg?IdcService=SS_GET_PAGE&n...

I'm not completely sure, but isn't the common code suppose to be on all banks? (Hence, it's called the common code because all banks have that same code) So my bet would be that the common code is already included in each of the hex files for the separate banks.

Re: Newbie Introduction and First Project Questions

In case anyone is not familiar with them they are lamps that are programmed to come on in the mornings but start off with low light and gradually get brighter, simulating the sun rising. Noob /naive approach: Use the sun as your natural timer. Get some wire, a photoresistor, a light bulb and a smal...

I think what usually happens is that both a hardware monitor and your program gets downloaded into the target. The monitor executes your program and sends debug data back to your PC.

One of the things i like about Microchip is that they make a lot of stuff in a dip package. I agree. While Atmel has 8 bit processors in DIP, Microchip's has some 16-bit dsPIC's and PIC24's in DIP and those micro's pack in a lot of power. Microchip also has a free GCC compiler (MPLAB C30) for these...

Cool, so if there is more interest, Nuts & Volts will hold a contest?

I think I have some ideas... So it must target only 3rd graders? What about middle schoolers?

I took a look at Goldmine Electronics and they do have good prices, but they don't have the resolutions I'm looking for. A 96x64 LCD, however will be ok. :D Thanks, I'll send you a PM.
