Re: Scope question...

Sorry I couldn't reply sooner. It seems that on this board if you change your email address, you get locked out and the admin has to reactivate your account... Anyway, I get what you are saying. The users manuals were where I read 5 & 6 MHz. Either way you slice it, it will be better for what I ...

Scope question...

I am looking at getting a new scope since my old one is old and tired. I am considering this one : http://www.saelig.com/PSBE100/PSPC017.htm and this one : http://www.saelig.com/PSBE100/PSBE100008.htm I am leaning towards the OWON since it has a 10Mpt memory depth. The reviews are pretty good on it ...

Re: FCC Certification

The antenna is a PCB antenna in this particular design so I am thinking (hoping) that it will work right out of the gate.

Thanks!

Re: FCC Certification

Yes - it is a certified module. The test lab will do a pre-test as part of the testing procedure but I think it will pass right off.

Thanks,
Kevin

Re: FCC Certification

Yeah... I saw a decent spectrum analyzer and it was $7000. I think I will find another way to precheck it. I believe the cert company can do that.

Thanks!

FCC Certification

I am working on a Zigbee project and it will have to be sent in to a lab for FCC certification. I do not want to plop down the money for this blindly so I wanted to get some equipment here to pretest it to give an idea of whether it will pass or not beforehand. Anyone have experience in this area? I...

A/C Compressor Cap Question

I have a 40/5 uF 440 cap. When I shake it I can hear liquid movement. I would think that this would mean that there is air in there and I didn't think there was supposed to be any air in it. I am not certain but it MIGHT be slightly bulged on the ends. Any idea if I should be able to hear this slosh...

Re: Dropped flat screen

Possible good news. First, and I should have said this before, the case is not broken - I cannot tell where it hit. But better than that, I did the little test that externet told me about and we could see an image! I moved the maglight around to several parts of the screen and we can't see anywhere ...

Re: Dropped flat screen

I will check that out - thanks! I would take it that you are leaning towards something worse than simple backlights?

Thanks again,
Kevin

Dropped flat screen

An employee at the local school has an LCD tv that was dropped. LN37B530 blah blah blah... The set turns on and has audio but no picture. I am fairly sure that the problem is with the backlight. I have never worked on one before but I would love to fix this for him so I can learn from the experience...

Re: Nuts & Volts Circulation Numbers?

I have just transferred from the local comm. college to Purdue North Central and they have a program for it. Although I am getting my BS degree in computers & info tech, I am getting a minor in ECET. See here : http://www.pnc.edu/te/ECET/ I just started this semester and I am taking Digital Fund...

Re: How to send carriage return command to USB connected dev

As has been pointed out, USB operations are fairly complex - especially a USB host implementation. I implemented a host once via a PIC32 for reading/writing USB flash drives. I hope I don't need to do that again... You might want to check out this : http://www.compsys1.com/html/usb_host_kit.html It ...
