Robot Controller

jm, You have not entered the question too late, but you did give great advice. Let me explain my thought process during this entire thread: I am part of a FIRST robotics team (competition site: http://www.usfirst.org ). We are Team 2199 the Robo-Lions (our site: http://robolions.org ). Last year was...

Robot Controllers

Thanks for the input so far, I have had my eye on several controllers from several websites including http://www.parallax.com/ . I think I might be climbing too many "stair steps" at once and the BASIC stamp 2 kit would be more logical to buy and expiriment on than going headfirst into bui...

What des this drive train need to do?

I will agree with slamer on this, a 2WD or 4WD is a much better drive train in most cases because it's much better manuverability. It does't take much to make a 2WD or a 4WD robot but if you want to challenge yourself with the mechanics of a differential, go for it. I have a VEX system myself and ha...

Problems and Issues with Three Wheel Driving Mechanism

Hi shaiqbashir, I know this post is a little old but, I will still reply. I am also sorry for the length of the response too. You may encounter some problems with driving the rear wheels with one motor on a deferential. If you are making this from scratch you may have to do some research on how a di...

Re:Recomendation for robot controller

Hello everyone, I must be asking the wrong question. What is your favorite "robot brain" for your robot projects? By "robot brains" I mean what is the board that runs code, handles all the sensor input, motor output, and such. I have also read in SERVO about people who build thei...

Recomendation for robot controller

Hello everyone, I am thinking on making my own little autonomous robot with several sensors and I would like a recommendation of robot controller boards. I have had my eye on the New Orangutan LV-168 from Pololu ( http://www.pololu.com/products/pololu/0225/ ). It has 2 motor controllers, 8 I/O pins,...
