If this method has already been mentioned, please accept my apology. I didn't have the patience to read the entire thread. I think I would use an analog multiplier, and apply a continuous sine wave to one input, and an exponential to the other. Your damping and frequency are now totally noninteracti...

I Googled "craftmade" and it was the 3rd hit. They have a contact link and a customer support link.

Mr. Al, I am all for moderation being light and not stifling free interchange. However, I see this board as being unmoderated. I draw this from the fact that name calling threads have been allowed to persist and that that no one has ever been banned for a violation of the rules other than spammers....

Re: large search coil for metal detector

I recently read an article in wired as well as seeing 'best places to find treasure....' or something like that where this guy towed a huge search coil for a metal detector behind him on a quad. Anyone have an idea on how I could make a large search coil, maybe 5x5 or so to tow behind my quad to lo...

Jollyrgr, you need a resistor or a diode (connected as voltage doubler) to GND from the junction of the coupling cap and the diode. Otherwise, the cap will just charge up during the positive peaks, and the circuit will not work.

Mr Al,I can't send the circuit from protolab or spice program .I will try to describe the network : it's a three resistor network with 10k in series and three caps .1uf going to ground from each resistor node and a output resistor from the resistor string ,10k going to -input of ua741. there is a a...

Re: Exitation Inductance

Lenp: The frequency of operation is a hint. By winding the primary with 4 strands of wire side by side, the exitation inductance is reduced. From an inductance standpoint, it's like four inductors of the same impedance in parallel. This allows a faster rise time of the switching waveform thus reduc...

OPF2412 is has an open collector output. If you want to use the PNP, all you should need to do is add a 1.5k resistor from the base of the PNP to +5V in the circuit you described. I would have expected for the circuit you described to work at low data rates, but it needs the added resistor to turn t...

Armature pipsqueak? Wow, That's a phrase I never expected Tom I think that's the noise your motor makes when the brushes wear down to their carriers. :D I wonder if he was addressing me? I probably have more experience and education than he does. He also assumed I was talking about him. Maybe I was...
