atx power supply problem
I make bench power supplies out of atx power supplies for my friends. Basically you ground the green wire and put 1 to 2 amp fixed load on the 5 volt side and you end up with a nice 12-volt supply for your work bench. I have recently run in to a couple atx supplies that wont work like this. They sta...

Re: adobe 9
I tryed the document on a old laptop I had with adobe 6 and snap shot worked perfectly. I guess adobe 9 will not allow you to use snap shot on some older documents. On this document the snap shot icon does not even high lite on the tool bar.

Ace laptop sound card
I am thinking of getting a acer as4730-4516 laptop and I need to know if the sound card has stereo input for SDR (software defined radio). I cant talk to anyone at acer unless I have a acer computer. Does anyone know if this model has stereo input.

current sensing
I am building a screwdriver antenna. I have the motor and built a simple 555 PWM supply for it. I want to be able to sense the current increase at the end of the travel at both ends to turn off the motor. I have a bunch of 5 watt .1 ohm resistors and was going to use one to sense the current but aft...

lm386
this is the circuit that I am using. I changed the signal from sine wave to square wave and it got rid of the click ( the keyer buts out a square wave). also I found that I had to bypass the +voltage to ground or the lm386 went in to oscillation. I tried removing the resistor and cap between ground ...

lm386 problem
I am building a basic lm386 amp for side tone for a keyer I just built. When I key the paddle (I am using my function generator at 700hz for testing the amp) there is a loud click in the speaker like it is getting a surge of voltage and then the tone comes through and sound good. Any ideas on how to...

we should change the terms of use agreement to allow the spammers but they would have to pay $5,000 a day to post. the bots would not see this and go ahead and post. we could let them stay for 3 or 4 days and then send them a bill. each state could have one of the registered users as a collection ag...

free dc motors
Tread mills have motors and controllers and there are usually at least 1 a month on craigslist for free. The only problem with them is that the controller is set up so you have to turn the speed control to 0 for it to start and there is a 1.5 second delay before the motor starts. I fixed having to 0...
