Re: 3 Phase 110 VAC 1/4 horse power motor
Thank You Mr. Reed, and to everyone that has reponded. Tuesday I will check the motor, and if it isn't 110 1 phase we will replace. We know a new motor size will generally fit, but we're not expecting a drop in replacement. However a third friend, also involved in this small project, is a machinist ...

But Thanks for the input MrAl.

3 Phase 110 VAC 1/4 horse power motor
A artist friend asked me to look at a motor he bought from India that is labled 3 Phase 110 VAC 1/4 HP. It has three wires coming out of the body. When it was ordered there was a lot of confusion about the voltage and he thought he was getting a 110 VAC single phase motor. Searching the internet it ...

Re: Voltage converter
Thanks ALL, appreciate the information and direction.
(This is for a voltage that will vary between 0 and 5.)
Now I just need to find the box that has those op amps
in and build a test circuit.

Voltage converter
Can anyone suggest a method or methods for converting a incoming 0-5 vdc control voltage
so there is the opposite voltage direction. When input is 0 output is 5, input 5 output 0.

Re: Ipod Nano in the washer.
Thank Edd. I figured out how to open the little beast, and it was the same as you wrote. However, I made little wedged picks out of 1/8 diameter bamboo sticks that were in the kitchen drawer. They worked fine, were strong enough, and the bamboo is easy to cut to various thicknesses. I started at one...

Re: Ipod Nano in the washer.
I agree and have flushed it alcohol and put it in 100 degree F oven. The problem is how to open the case and not damage it. Since this is a relitively new product there is not a lot of DIY info out yet. Thanks for your suggestions.

Re: scoot-n-go scooter
http://www.electricscooterparts.com/ seems to have a nice selection of parts including motors. However, I have never purchased from them, yet.
Pepboys and Kragan sells scooters pretty cheap and run sales frequently. Sometimes it can be just as cheap to get the whole scooter if you need more than ...

Polar Heart rate monitor hack
Has anyone hacked the audio code on Polar heart rate monitors or have any ideas on how to do it? I'm thinking something that uses PIC basic. They use a audio tone signal and your sound card mic input to uplink data. Their new product can only be uplinked to their website for viewing data and it woul...

Re: Holtek HT-648L Decoder
Both devices operate at 5 vdc, the Holtek devices has cmos in/out/puts. I found the datasheets at http://www.rentron.com, which is also where I purchased the remote control kit.
Rentron seems to have one of the better PicBasic sites around along with the goodies ...

Holtek HT-648L Decoder
This is my first venture into using a remote system consisting of a Holtek Ht-640 encoder and Ht-648L decoder, and I have questions, hopefully some one can help. The datasheets don’t have much in the way of application.
My project consists of the remote system, a PIC16F876 and two LMD18200 H-brid...

PWM frequency selection
When using PWM to drive an H-bridge and motor, what criteria is used to select the duty cycle and frequency? The system is a PIC processor and LMD18200, driving a 24vdc gearmotor and lifts a weight up and down.
THX
