Companies like "Polaris" used to sell 12 volt models.

Also All electronic, and dozens of other companies used to sell the 12 volt model.

Other that that Hooking into the main PS and over riding the DC signal is easy.

We use the same method, the Box and pendant. I change the batteries every six months in the main unit, the pendand battery is good for ten years. We are lucky to have a phone service, but any wireless transmitter can do the next mile long bounce. The Transmitter, pendant, and system has been flawles...

If only they would wake up, Alice said Click your heels twice? There are few grumpy old parts jockeys here that will tell you it cant be done? Why, because they cant do it them selves. They peaked in their life long ago, as far as general knowledge years ago, they put on the corporate blinders, and ...

The Gate Turn Off device back when was a SCR type of device, in reverse. But its main qualitites were that it shut off instead of turn on,... using far more current and voltage. It was a specific device that was meant to handle voltages that were outrageous in the real world, such as a TV deflection...

In the old day it was for free? [for the PC]

Check into some of the old FAX convertor disks?

Fax's should have been obsolete 10 years back, but still there are die hards?

Probably the banks and cops?

Any one can fake it, but they still take it serious?

I have several 5 pound books full of acronyms, definitions, [literally] etc, but they just keep changing,... so what are we to take serious? It reminds me of the "Valley Girls",... "gag me with a spoon", but what does tomorrow have to say? Back then they tried to be scientific, b...

Thyristors are the most widely used component in the general industry aside from the Transistor, used for AC when both ways are needed. The SCR is also one of the most widely used items, making gate logic for simple logic a snap. Like the FET, it goes back more than 3 decades now with almost a 99.9%...

If you disconnect the gate in the middle, and it still conducts, it’s the TUBE/ assembly. The circuitry feeding the tube may have failed? [or the tube] But, if the center is disconnected, and the TUBE continues to discharge [short out] then it sounds like the tube, unless the feed is in excess of ...

Just books,..... all 10,000 or 100,000 of the names, acronyms, and slang.

I gave up back in the late 80s.

Its not worth it as things change by the minute.

Gate turn off SCRs were used in things like the KV 17/19 TV [Trinatron] and from memory it controlled the Fly back or some such device that controlled a voltage of 1100+ volts or so. I repaired mine in the early 80s with this device. It was as big as a To3, it was huge, and it took a lot of power to...

Bodgy, ...in the Eastern US they use more phrases like this, old [New England] ] English and all. To any one who has read it normaly, its just super informal, archaic, quaint, odd ball. I got a lot of my languages from the Australians, India’s Proper Queens English, and the Brits so it tends to be...

The only SCR Gate turn off device I have seen is quite large, used in the Sony KV xx TV for its control of fairly high voltage.

You could look up your JFET Analog switches. [chip]

They handle up to 500 ma and switch at as low as .8 to 2 volts depending on the state or the product.

Definite switching and high speed action.
