Re: "Perfect" LED current limiting challenge

I'm Embarrassed to find that "Ian" is from Toronto Canada, on behalf of all Canadians, I'm sorry, we are usually better behaved then that.

indicator lights

A friend of mine asked me to wire up a portable hot water tank, easy-peasy. He also asked me to wire in indicator lights that would light when all was well with the heating elements and would go off when the elements burnt out. I want to stay away from sensing circuitry and am hoping for a very simp...

Re: rf interference

If I understand your question correctly Robert, When the key on the key fob is pressed down, a pin on the receiver goes high (+5v). It stays high as long as the key is pressed. When the key is let go, the pin goes back to a ground state. When I say the lamp was flickering I mean the receiver appears...

Re: fluke scopes

I will be using the scope mainly at the home work bench but my job also requires me to work on the road and out of trucks. Most of my work revolves around control- micros, rc links and sensors. With things getting ever faster I don't want to be wanting a faster scope in a few years. I,m looking at 2...

fluke scopes

anybody out there use a fluke scope? Are they worth the money you pay for them? or are they like laptops where you pay a lot more for the portability. I'm in the market for a new scope and wondering if i'm better off getting something else for that price.<p>Cheers, James in Vancouver

Re: rf interference

Thanks for all the input, the solenoid power is completely separate (9v battery for the rx and a gel cell for the solenoid) from the other electronics, I do have diodes on both the relay coils and across the solenoids and yes the solenoids are within a foot of the receiver. This is almost unavoidabl...

rf interference

I recently built a circuit using a RF module from RF Digital. It uses a key fob for a transmitter (RFD28005) and a small board with a Linx module running 418Khz for a receiver (RFD28004). The circuit is simple enough, a darlington is triggered which in turn triggers a relay (which has a reverse bias...

rf digital

A few months back I ordered a key fob/receiver pair from Rf Digital corp. I tried to go to their web sight again to buy some more stuff and their sight no longer seems to be around. Anyone know what happened to them? The product worked great for what I was doing, where else can I find a key fob rece...

Re: underwater ROV

I work in the special effects industry and we use 12v solenoids all the time controlling anything from air to nitrogen (high pressure) to propane. Most solenoid are rated with a pressure (300, 600) in lbs and have WOG stamped on them which stands for water, oil, gas. All three substances can be used...
