Re: HDMI Plug\Connector Issues (RANT)...........

That's just too short of a time period for that type of cable to either oxidize or work loose. Monitors / TVs "should" be stationary devices where the connecting cables hardly ever move. 2 thoughts on this customer / situation,. 1. Is the customer a gamer or do they very often rearrange their decor...

Re: HDMI Plug\Connector Issues (RANT)...........

ARG!!!!!! I'm back too cleaning a customer's HDMI Plug\Connector on the back of the Monitor/TV. Again! This is driving me, and the owner of the Monitor/TV CrAzy! This is the fourth time I've done this. But I'm beginning to wonder if it has to do more with the cable connector putting some strain on ...

Re: TV lacking remote control...

Sounds like a unstable power supply in the set. More than likely electrolytic capacitors in the regulator section. These newer LSI chips require tighter voltages, and even the smallest of voltage drops, or spikes can cause them to function erratically. Thou...... I have been seeing good prices on ne...

Re: Nicad Battery Charger with NiMH Batteries.............

I was wondering where he came up with the 400 mAh capacity rating? I don't see that anywhere. Maybe I'm missing something. I got it from Electronic Goldmine . They tested the batteries, and found that they only had a 400Mah rating. Here's the catalog page: http://www.goldmine-elec-products.com/prod...

Re: Nicad Battery Charger with NiMH Batteries.............

Yeah, I know the BTY batteries are {(N)ew (O)ld (S)tock}, and the 3000 label on them has nothing too do with it's actual 400Mah rating. Originally, I was going to get the rechargeable batteries for use with the Polariod Digital Camera. But the camera is taking blurry photos, and no matter wh...

Re: wireless door button - several failed.

Hey, instead of an Osi-silly-scope....... Get and AM Radio, tuned off station. Then with a good battery installed in one of the door buttons. Hold it close by the AM Radio. Press the button, and listen for the RF noise from the transmitter. If you got some kind of noise. Then you know it is transmit...

Re: wireless door button - several failed.

Are those batteries brand name or the generic super cheapies? If the latter, those may test okay for voltage but not have enough current capacity to work properly. Here's an example: https://youtu.be/nWK3DwFeo5M CeaSaR CeaSaR has a good point! DacFlyer, try powering the buttons with a bench p...

Re: wireless door button - several failed.

What's the weather like there? I've seen similar keypad systems fail, because the air was damp, and condensation built up inside, shorting it out. Another thing that caused me headaches were the switches. The Carbon Rubber ones would stop conducting after so many presses. Mechanical switches that go...

Re: Vintage Radio Shack Headphones.....

How's the fidelity of the headphones? I remember seeing them back in the day but don't remember the specs. CeaSaR Hmmm........... I've tried looking up the spec's, but have found no info on what the frequency response range is on these. Though, I found an old Radio Shack Ad from 1968 that says it c...

Yeah,

It is just to notify you that there has been a response to a post you were interested in, or had been actively taking part in.

I've got to go in to my settings and see if I can't turn that off.
