Almost all bots can be authenticated as bots . There are a couple of ways such as their algorithm and how they behave, or they way they are coded and programmed. The administrators running this forum can use the mod for this forum which will stop the bots: http://www.phpbb.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=...

Dallas Semiconductors (Maxim) also as an App Note for creating a electric meter: http://www.maxim-ic.com/appnotes.cfm/an_pk/3819 and also the customization guide: http://www.maxim-ic.com/appnotes.cfm/an_pk/3820 I think if you ask DS (Maxim) nicely, you can get free samples of the MAXQ microcontroller.

I do have to admit, I've never seen this much spam on a forum before. It's more likely people doing this to the forums, than a machine. Seems like I registered in another forum that also uses phpBB and they required you enter a confriming code that is displayed in image form. Their forum doesn't see...

If you really want to learn about how to blink LEDS, you could take a look at this page: http://www.apogeekits.com/flashing_lights.htm
There's a kit on the page for sale, but the page also includes a schematic and a description of how the circuit works which you could take a look at.

Dacflyer, These spammers aren't using automated software to join, and that is where the problem lies in the membership part. I don't want to start any conflict, but one of the spammers claimed that they were using forum automated software, claiming he was using a program called XRumer. You could fi...

Improving the forum and it's security
I was wondering that to improve security and spam on this forum, the people who run this site can install security mods. It seems this forum is running phpBB v2 and I was wondering if this forum is going to be upgraded to phpBB v3 (or currently codenamed "Olympus"). To those who run this s...

Start simple and build from that. Try looking for Voice Recognition Modules. Google them if you want. A nice one is the VoiceRecognition Stamp:

I prefer to hack a VCR for the little black box, add in a 5 volt signal, and all IR goes high on the out put signal. Much simpler than even the transistor circuits. Unscrewing the cover and hacking it, then looking for the black box, adding a 5 volt signal, then having to put back the cover... :sho...
