Phase shift oscillator equations way different in other book

Hi I am a electronics technician that came across equation confusion from various books for the three network phase shift oscillator circuit. One book"hints and kinks by QST"says f=(tan 60 deg)/2prc=1.73/6,28 rc= 0.28/rc. Another book "electricity, electronics and electromagnetic princi...

dvd player skipping

Hi , a Friend of mine that works on dvds says the motor that spins the dvd has a high failure rate which can cause startup ,playing problems. Matt Electronics sells the motor for about $7.00 plus shipping. I don't think the laser head being about a year old is the problem unless you damaged the coil...

leds as rectifiers

Hi, I have seen in GE portable mixers the charging circuit used the red led as rectifier in series with a resistor [vaguely remember value 180ohms or lower and a zener in series with it so it would stop charging when the battery was full.]. The leds can be used in a bridge as a LOW current rectifier...

student needs help for project

Hi again I found out the National mm74c925n[4 digit] has the buffer transistors built in for the segments so it's easier to use,the counter is up counting only. The other bad new is the ic works up to 6v supply. For the time base you can divide the 60 hz /3600 = 1 count per hour [that's two divide by...

Radio Shack fired experienced employee

Hi, I don't agree with DRWHen. I am offended, the guy is a real nice person. He went through the kit building era like I did [in the mid 1960's]. I did some kitbuilding too ,with a difference ;I built a lot of circuits on perfboard from the schematics ,I still do today when the computer simulations D...
