Re: Noma model 052-8867-6 timer
Hi, Yes there is a reset button. I used a pencil tip to press it and it cleared the current time and all the timer settings that I had programmed however it did not solve the override settings issue.

Noma model 052-8867-6 timer
Hi, I just purchased a Noma indoor digital timer model # 052-8867-6 and followed the instructions exactly to set the clock and timer. The instructions are very easy to follow but the timer will not turn on. I noticed that the override function does not appear to work correctly. According to the inst...

LT1083CP Question
Hi, I want to use an LT1083CP for the regulator in a variable linear power supply. The transformer puts out 12V and can supply up to 3 amps. This will be used on my service bench for powering up devices for short periods of time for testing and troubleshooting. I would like to know what values I sho...

Re: Black & Decker LCS20 lithium battery charger no indicato
Hi, This belongs to a neighbour. Both batteries measure 5.8V and the trimmer head just barely tries to turn. I took the charger apart and there is 170V at the output of the bridge rectifier and 2.2V across the red and black leads that go to the battery. There are 2 more leads, a blue and an orange. ...

Black & Decker LCS20 lithium battery charger no indicator
Hi, I have a Black & Decker trimmer in which the charger will not charge the batteries. The indicator light on the charger will not light up. Is the charger or the batteries at fault? The batteries are lithium model LBXR20 and the charger is model LCS20.

Store theft alarm question
Hi, Recently I bought an inkjet cartridge at The Real Canadian Superstore. At the checkout the clerk cancelled the security tag by sliding the cartridge over the cancelling device on the checkout counter. The cancelling device gave off a sound indicating the security tag was cancelled. I paid for th...

Re: Hitachi VT-2200A VCR video drum dead
Hi, I found 1 bad electrolytic, a 220uf 16v unit. I also noticed what may be the main reason why the regulator failed, the heat sink mounting screws were so loose I could have removed them without a screwdriver. I had a used regulator on hand that I salvaged years ago from another vcr so I installed...

Hitachi VT-2200A VCR video drum dead
Hi, Can anyone suggest why the video head drum won't turn in a Hitachi VT-2200A vcr? The tape loads, then threads and then the vcr shuts down. The video head drum won't even try and turn. When I manually unthread the tape by turning the threading motor back, fast forward, rewind and eject all work f...

Re: Capacitor for pulse application
Hi, Thanks for all of your replies! I was not aware that it was possible to put in a solid state ignition; I will keep that in mind. As for now I will keep it points and condenser. I replaced the condenser with a capacitor and will leave it that way unless the capacitor fails, then I will probably g...

Re: Capacitor for pulse application
The application is for an old magneto ignition on a tractor. The condenser is defective and I thought a cheaper and easier alternative would be a suitable capacitor instead of going to the auto parts store and asking for 1 each of all the condensers that they have in stock and testing them with my c...

Capacitor for pulse application
Hi, I would like a recommendation for the best type of capacitor to use in an application with low frequency pulses around 200v. The capacitor parallels a coil. Capacitance needed is 0.22uf.

High heat epoxy recommendation wanted
Hi, Can someone recommend an epoxy that will withstand high temperature and is not electrically conductive? I would like to use this to pour a casting for electrical use mounted on a gasoline engine.
