Re: Any preassembled relay set ?
hi, Older Mercedes 508D transporters have a relay that normally (not activated) puts two 12V car batteries parallel. When activated, it puts them in series (in order to be able to start the engine, which has a 24VDC starter motor). These are VERY heavy duty units, as the starter engine current must ...

Re: to project or not to project....
when programming a microcontroller seems hard to you, it maybe is because of the fact that MPlab (for PICs of course) normally can only be programmed in Assembly. Which is relatively hard to learn. The PicBasic programming language however is very easy to learn... I would suggest you get PicBasic an...

Re: adjustable l-10 minute timer on an hourly basis
hi, Just follow the KISS principle: - Buy a simple timer with 15min intervals as mentioned - Buy a second timer module for 120V that is settable in minutes (standard switchgear stuff) - Feed second timer module each hour for 15 minutes with first timer - Second timer will steer the pump - Ready. - N...

@Robert Reed: There is no direct workaround (except learning our great language, that is), but google is your friend. For example: http://translate.google.com/translate?js=n&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&layout=2&eotf=1&sl=auto&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.circuitsonline.net%2Ff...

Re: Is this forum dying?
hi all,
I check this forum every week or so, but can not contribute so much as the US devices are very different..
The (very busy) place I usually go to is http://www.circuitsonline.net which is Dutch like me.
They understand english though..

Re: Record-Delay-Play sound-bytes
Is usage of a small single board computer (SBC) with audio on-baord a possible solution? Then it would be a software-only solution. Drawback is that it is a bit expensive. Making software with a ringbuffer for audio is not so very difficult. An ethernut board could be a solution maybe?

hi,
It'll be just fine. Its about the amps. Just put it in series and measure away on the AC-Amps setting.
just my two cents.

mmm. no-one said anything about vacuum tubes so we can use a lowvoltage tube (some have 6V anode specs!).

why not use a LogiTech Harmony remote. That one is programmable and can do sequences for you, like starting up all machines at the touch of one button...

or... use a SD-card eating photoplayer. Make graphics in .jpg format, put them on the SD card, and voila!

Re: How to sense over/under frequency ?
i would say use a 8 pin PIC processor, and write a suiting program. would not be too hard, and very versatile as well
