SCI/RS232 <=> SPI

Hey guys looking for some input here.... I'm looking for the easiest way to convert rs232/sci to a spi signal. Background: I'm using a microcontroller Motorola s12 series that only has one SCI port that will be used for programming/sending data to a pc. I'm also trying to use the maxbotix sensors th...

Chris thanks, but I don't think a voltage divider will work....

It works fine coming from the 5V singal of the sensor, but when the dsp microcontoller sends out, its logic is 3.3V so it would divide that further which I would not want.
Any other ideas?

3.3V and 5V Logic Argh!

Hey guys, maybe a newbie question for some of you but I'm looking for some advice... I'm using a TI DSP microcontroller that uses 3.3V logic and attempting to use the Parallax PING))) sensor. This particular sensor waits for a 10us high logic from the microcontroller and then takes a distance measur...

How to trigger relay?

Hey guys, I have been working with microcontrollers and basic stamps lately trying to figure out how to trigger a relay. The problem obviously is that the microcontroller can only supply so much current, where as the relay needs ~70 mA. Now I guess I need a power transistor. I have never worked with...

What I'm basically looking for is a 12V present light. Its simply for debugging purposes. The device that will be powered by a 12V lawn mower battery requires 12V, so it would be nice to have an external interface that says hey "12V supply is avaible this isn't what the problem is, go look some...

Way to step down voltage to LED.

Hey All- This is probably a pretty basic question for most of you but here it goes... I'm working on a side project of mine where I need LEDs to indicate if a 12V supply is avilable. The problem is 12V leds are relatively expensive compared to their lower voltage counterparts. What would the cheapes...

PIC-MCP-USB?

Anyone have any experience with this PIC programmer?

Any other reccomendations for low cost alternatives to PICStart+?

Thanks
