LCD monitor on old PS1 computer
Hi, I have a friend who has an old IBM PS1 computer he uses for high speed morse code. He wondered if it's possible to replace the existing video monitor with an lcd monitor to save space. He doesn't want to change the computer. I don't think this is possible but I thought I would throw it to the fo...

Re: Dish Network VIP211 Remote Control Extender
Hi, Just wanted to get back to the folks on the forum. I finally got all the parts to build the Mark 5 ir range extender shown here. http://www.zen22142.zen.co.uk/Circuits/Interface/irext5.htm Thanks to the person that recommended the Mouser part for the IR phototransistor. I've been using the circu...

Dish Network VIP211 Remote Control Extender
Hi, I want to build a circuit that would enable me to control my Dish Network VIP211 from another room. The remote is infrared only. I've done an internet search for circuits and one called the "Mark 5" looks like it might do the trick. I can't find a U.S. source for the photodiode which i...

Re: Part ID needed for LCD TV Inverter board component
Hi again, An update on my component problem. I was able to identify the parts as AOD454 and AOD413. These are n channel and p channel mosfets made by AOS (Alpha and Omega Semiconductor). Digikey stocks only one of the complimentary pair. Anyone know of good subs before I start downloading data sheet...

Part ID needed for LCD TV Inverter board component
Hi, I'm working on a Toshiba 42HL196 LCD TV. The backlight is out. There are two inverter boards - a master and slave, one on each side of the set. The boards are made by CMO and are part numbers VIT70023.50 and VIT70023.51. I have found replacement boards but where is the fun in that! I'd like to r...

Sharp Microwave LCD Backlight problem
Hi, A friend has a Sharp Microwave Model R-314FS, manufactured in July 2002. The led backlight is out for the LCD display. All three surface mount leds are good - no power to them. The controller board has a limited number of parts (other than the processor board) for the power supply. We have no sc...

K type thermocouple circuit
Hi,
Does anyone have a circuit or a link to a circuit that raises a K type thermocouple to a voltage suitable for a data acquisition card?
The input ADC has a range of +/- 10 Volts.
Thanks,
Mike

Zotdoc,
You can purchase electric match heads, nichrome wire already soldered in place from two sources.
www.oda-ent.com
or
www.skylighter.com
Note: You will still have to dip them in a composition.

Is there a way to generate telephone touch tones with VB6?

Thanks

Auto Trouble Code Reader Circuit
Hi,<p>I've got a 1987 Ford Ranger truck (OBD 1) that I need to read the engine trouble codes. The manual says that you can use an analog meter and count the meter deflections to obtain the numeric code. Does anyone have a more elegant circuit solution or can point me to a website for building my own...

Hi Dale and others,<p>I'm using a Holtek HT-9170B for the DTMF decoder. Very inexpensive and a very close replacement to the California Micro CM8870.
Thanks everyone for all the suggestions. Now, anyone have a favorite single supply op amp?<p>Mike
