Bigglez I should have said airwaves. My point was that the government is interfering in the markets in ways they should not. They are picking and choosing winners and losers based on the size of their wallets. The market place should be working these things out.

Ownership

My question is when did the FCC go from regulating the air space to owning the airspace. It seems to me every branch of the government is morphing from regulation to ownership of the public domain.

No more satellites ?

I was watching a TV show and the subject came up about satellites. One point was if something would hit a satellite and do enough damage that it could cause a chain reaction and destroy other satellites, possibly all of them. Are we prepared for something like this. I know we have a large dependence...

Why digital TV ?

I don't understand the reason behind digital TV. A CRT cant produce a picture from digital information. So why produce video in digital just to send it to a DAC. It makes sense in a computer but not in a TV, at least no to me. Now I do understand a DVD will store data or video with no loss until you...

It would help a lot to know how you have the cable set up. For example is it going from the cable into the digital box to the TV? Or from the digital box through the VCR? I don't know how you set this up but the symptoms sounds like you are coming from the VCR and have the RCA inputs plugged incorre...

I don't like the idea of causing an arc to see if there is voltage a resister and meter will do just fine to see if voltage is there but if i remember correctly I would need a resistor wattage of at lest 10 watts. I was thinking a small say 60 watt bulb ? Its been a wile since i have worked on these...

I have a power supply I pulled from a 46 inch magnavox. I have tested as far as I can without loading down the secondary winding. I have a variable ac power supply but I need advice on what I can use as a load. I need something that is cheep as this is something I rarely work on.
