Re: Motor Reverse Protection

Sofaspud,
OK, now I get it. I found this in a package; Diodes Inc. DF01M. So, the price I pay for eliminating the switch is the loss of 1.1v. The package is small enough and the price is right. This may be doable.
Dean,
The only Schottky bridge I could find was in a huge package; 1.25" x ...

Re: Motor Reverse Protection

OK, now this is interesting, Dean. The motor is in a remotely operated device. There are two brands of receivers on the market that will activate the device. Both receivers output about 6 vdc, but opposite polarities. I was going to use a SPDT switch to select the appropriate receiver, but just in c...

Source for "bump-resistant" SPDT switch?

I am looking for a "bump-resistant" SPDT switch. This will be mounted externally on a piece of equipment, and I want something low-profile that would be difficult to bump into the other position. I am thinking of a switch that could be changed with maybe the tip of a car key, pen, etc. Any...

Motor Reverse Protection

I want to keep a small dc motor from rotating the wrong way if somebody connects the voltage source backwards. Motor specs: 5V, drawing 600mA at stall (free running at 52mA). I want to keep it simple and cheap; I was thinking a diode would do the trick, but my military electronics training is but a ...
