Transformer winding

I have been looking for some online resources for making homemade transformers. In particular in the 1000 to 1500 volt range. I wish to make a small arc about ¼ of an inch. I have found some commercial site however I am looking for a more do it your self site. I have access to a machine shop for fab...

Re: Disposable camera flash

Thanks Edd for the info. My electronics knowledge is basic but growing so this may sound a bit off. Would it be possible to use a flash circuit to feed a larger cap? I really only need a charge every 30s to a min. Or would the flash circuit only feed to about 300v? I think I can probably find my ans...

Re: Re-broadcast FM Radio?

I think I know where you coming from Mark, I have the same problem at my work. The only thing I came up with is to re-transmit to another frequency using a fm transmitter I built from a kit. I think I understand what you saying though it would be nice to amplify the whole 88 to 107? Mhz band for use...

Re: light sensitive resistor detector circuit

I actially did something a bit different, well what i was looking to try in the forst place. I made a small circuit using a photoresistor a 2n2222 2 led's 100k pot and 2 1k resistors to protect the leds and a 9v 350ma wall wart. the circuit activates a led when there is no light beening picked up by...

Re: light sensitive resistor detector circuit

Lots and lots of Ideas I like Externets nice simple idea of using a piece a fiber optic. I think I have an old piece at work left over from a 10baseT fiber connection? But If I can’t find a piece I think I like MrAl’s idea seams quite simple using the secondary of a transformer. All of them sounds g...

Re: PIC/Stamp Microcontroler Where to Start

Thanks for all your input It is greatly apprechiated! I think I will jump right in with a PIC. Looks like BasicMicro Atom might be a good place to start. I think my employer will support me on this so hopefully they will pay for the things i need to get started. I will also research some other lines...

Hello I'm interested in getting into microcontrollers. I'm a computer tech but I don’t know a lot about programming. I do have some electronics training and I’m comfortable with basic circuits. Re: Keeping It Cool: Fans, Insulation, Peltier Cooling Modul

Here is a link to a water cooler designed for cooling computer chips and harddrives.
http://www.tomshardware.com/howto/02q3/ ... index.html
Very nice kit. I think it sells for about $300-$400 but you can mount the heatsink right to a chip! It runs on 12v DC
Good luck
Mark

Also Flyback has the numbers 847489111. I see some links on the net for the service manuals but does anyone know a good site? Actia...
