Re: ok,, New Project time,,,

Update, I could not get the results I wanted with the LM3914, but later on had a  Lightbulb  moment.
I decided that i will use the LM324 IC, as I can program each OP amp for the exact trigger point that I want.
Since the sensor i am using isn't very linear.
Stay Tuned...

Soldering iron tip woes

I got a few iron tips that have issues, and i don't know why.. I've tried to retin them, but it doesn't help. thy aren't oxidized, the tips are as clean and smooth as can be. but i can't get them to take solder. It is as if the tips have a glaze or something. What can i do besides throw them out.. I...

Carbide lamps.. The carbide when mixed with water produced acetylene gas they worked but really didn't give off very good light..and if not careful, made a big boom,,

Re: My WiFi Clock I built.

Wow,, Led bulbs in place of light bulbs.. Does that even conform to the standards for color or brightness ? Were not allowed to do that here. The only bulbs we have left are maybe 1 or 2 intersections that have 8 inch heads, and an Arrow.. And since they don't make 8 inch led arrows,, Were forced to...

Re: Soldering Fat

I have some iron tips that just wouldn't take solder to save your life, even after cleaning with tip tinner etc, but i did find out, If I put the tip ( hot ) into the soldering fat for about a min or so, the tip became serviceable again..almost like new. I might be inclined to try the Coke as a clea...

Soldering Fat

Has anyone here ever used something called Soldering Fat.
what's the difference between this and flux or even resin ?
I've used the soldering fat before, It seems to work really good when soldering small stuff. A Lil Dab'l Do Ya.
I just don't know what the real differences are.

Another smaller GPS clock i made for a friend last christmas.

A buddy liked a mocked up GPS clock I had knew he wanted one. So what better Christmas to give than a home made one. this one uses just a cheap GPS Module and a RTC. and a Adafruit display. Again credit goes to my other Buddy for writing me the code for it. I've tried and tried, i can't grasp code t...

My WiFi Clock I built.

Ok, so i said to myself I am sick-n-tired of setting clocks. Atomic clocks are not reliable, they loose signal a lot over here on the east coast. So I talked to a buddy of mine, which is only 1.5 hrs away from me. I told him what i wanted and he suggested to use the ESP32 Wroom Module. I told him i ...
