Re: Historic off topic...

Looks like 19 years for me... Dunno know how I missed this post until now... Maye it's the fact I've only been here a couple of times since retiring 5 years ago... Seems like I have less time since retiring.. Or mebbe it's because I got old :-)

A friends old Dell laptop got hit a while back, The wireless wasn't working when he bought it (used) and network card died on this last hit.. Happy holiday to all that are still hanging around here. That's 365 more sunrises and sunsets behind us, and my sincere hopes for many more.

Re: SRM motor

This is the first I hear of this, but then again, I've been retired for 3 years... I wonder what the pricing structure is like.. Apparently you'd be stuck using their controller, like it or not...Sounds interesting, motors and controls were a big part of what I taught...

Re: Rewiring a battery charger

You could use a bridge to get the 24 volts, but you would get screwy voltages at the lower settings, Is that an issue ? Does this have multiple taps on the primary ?..If it does the way they get the higher charging rate is by stepping up the voltage, and you could use that to your advantage to dial ...

Re: The Eternal $19.00 Radio

Back in the early 60's radios would advertise how many transistors were inside, like "6 transistor high fidelity".. Opened one up one day to see these wonder devices, it had the advertised quantity of transistors soldered to the board but a couple of them had no traces going to them !!
