Google for Vanner, Outback or Trace ( they have changed their name I think... ) They all make stackable 120 V 4kw units that can be configured to output 240 VAC at 8kw. You can also use a step-up transformer to accomplish the same.<p>Good luck!

Find the components you need at one of the mfgrs then fill out their free sample request form on line. ON, Freescale, (formerly Motorola) IRC etc. all have sample programs with great response.

Think about a low end PIC or other MPU... They cost about $2 and don't need much in the way of support components.
