Re: Looking for power injector for amplified antenna...

Well, whatever used to be a standard, now his booster uses 6VDC. Ask the chinese, I did not do it... :???: Seems the USB jack current is capable to please the antenna booster. I will not complain. Specs here show 6V/100mA ----> https://www.ebay.com/itm/192285092531?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711...

Re: Looking for power injector for amplified antenna...

Hi Tzap. Thank you. The booster takes 6VDC. I have its correct adapter  Decided to make my own; and added a USB male power cable to power it with the USB jack in the TV. Worked too on 5V. If can work better, I do not know, but will live with it. The second schematic here ----> https...

Looking for power injector for amplified antenna...

Hi all. A TV antenna on the roof has a built-in preamplifier. Am looking for a power injector that will send 12V to the antenna and will separate the RF signal to feed the TV RF input. Do you have one behind the spider webs for sale ? Should have three ports; - Power in - connects to 12V supply - Po...

Re: Is Nuts and Volts dead ?

There is Nuts&Volts magazine; and Nuts&Volts forum. Death evaluation should be dealt by separate coroners.* In mid nineties, the trendy forums on the web were 'Popular Electronics' and something with Microsoft forums? and something else as ' Electronics Now' ? Those places harbored some (or now very...

To read revolutions per second on multimeter ?

Hi. Cheap and not multimeters have the Hertz reading setting. Would like to implement a simple optical reader aiming a turning shaft with a black/white marking. Perhaps severing the optosensor half of an optocoupler, or a phototransistor, or even a tiny magnet glued to shaft, and a coil to the meter...

Re: telephone interface

¿? Do you want to originate calls on your wireless cell service provider by using the landline hardware ? , or answering calls to your cell phone by lifting the landline handset ? Or reversed, use the landline to place and answer calls manipulating your ´smart' phone ? Landlines telephones use audio...

I don't believe in ghosts anymore!
Black tape over the IR detector has stopped the random turn-on problem!

Hi John.
Seen a TV remote control emitting commands by itself caused by a nearby idle cell phone.
Without any other actions, tape cover the TV infrared window; move the remote to another room with batteries removed just to confirm, and come back... :???:

Re: My Toshiba is dying help...

Could i take my HDD out and have it scanned on another computer ? even tho my AV says it's clean ? I believe you can as a secondary drive, not booting from it. Windows does not like to boot in a planet where it was not installed. But am not an expert... Someone else will confirm or knows a trick. B...

Re: My Toshiba is dying help...

Using a 'live' CD/USB to boot Linux from, without alteration to the -still present and connected- sick hard drive allows to tamper, delete, modify, erase, repair, fix anything in the sick hard drive; and to save to any external device the precious data, programs, that got impaired. "Someone tell me something to make me feel more at ease." --- Not easy :???: Am afraid your mainboard will arrive; you will perform a lot of risky surgery; and if everything ends well, the problem will remain.
