To read revolutions per second on multimeter ?

Hi. Cheap and not multimeters have the Hertz reading setting. Would like to implement a simple optical reader aiming a turning shaft with a black/white marking. Perhaps severing the optosensor half of an optocoupler, or a phototransistor, or even a tiny magnet glued to shaft, and a coil to the meter...

Re: telephone interface

¿? Do you want to originate calls on your wireless cell service provider by using the landline hardware ? , or answering calls to your cell phone by lifting the landline handset ? Or reversed, use the landline to place and answer calls manipulating your ´smart' phone ? Landlines telephones use audio...

I don't believe in ghosts anymore!
Black tape over the IR detector has stopped the random turn-on problem!
Noooooo! I was hoping being a true ghost and restarting a 'Rice pulling'-like subject

Re: Ghosts

Hi John.
Seen a TV remote control emitting commands by itself caused by a nearby idle cell phone.
Without any other actions, tape cover the TV infrared window; move the remote to another room with batteries removed just to confirm, and come back... :???:

Re: My Toshiba is dying help...

Could i take my HDD out and have it scanned on another computer ? even tho my AV says it's clean ? I believe you can as a secondary drive, not booting from it. Windows does not like to boot in a planet where it was not installed. But am not an expert... Someone else will confirm or knows a trick. B...

Using a 'live' CD/USB to boot Linux from, without alteration to the -still present and connected- sick hard drive allows to tamper, delete, modify, erase, repair, fix anything in the sick hard drive; and to save to any external device the precious data, programs, that got impaired. "Someone tell me something to make me feel more at ease." --- Not easy :???: Am afraid your mainboard will arrive; you will perform a lot of risky surgery; and if everything ends well, the problem will remain. Because the offender lives in the hard drive. Had to deal with a ransomware once maaany ye...

It is not the wonderful clean internet of the nineties any more. Every web site wants control of your screen and never stop pumping garbage clogging your storage, processing and patience. But they demand to visit their sites pushing acceptance of terms. But we users cannot set our demand terms for t...

Re: LED backlights in LG television...

Anything smaller than 40" is not worth repairing ... That size is less fragile; the dismantling part is less risky. Larger than 40" have a higher price sticker, worth repairing; if dismantling/reassembling goes well. Smells like the cost of the repair bill is more driven by the price of the item tha...

Re: LED backlights in LG television...

Thanks. Yes, just like your image, one emitter in a strip and another in other strip found dead; had to test all 60 one by one as failed open, the whole series section shows dark. Ordered all the dozen strips kit ($36) and will replace all the owner wants. Replacing the $0.10 emitters individually t...

Re: LED backlights in LG television...

Thank you, Tzap. After looking at some dismantling videos and closely inspecting how this LG 50LN5400 is put together, decided to NOT do it the way everyone does it. Good thing ! Handling such a large thin LCD and keeping it safely and lint/fingerprints-free aside until replacement emitters arrive w...

Seems this is it: second schematic = third image at : ----> https://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/2015/08/lg-power-supply-eay62810801-schematic.html?_escaped_fragment_ Q803 and Q805 are off, controlled by the IC shown below. Re: LED backlights in LG television...

Thanks, Tzap. Do not understand the above. I could "force" feed the supply into a LED strip by jumping from GND to L- with a ~100 ohm resistor ? +80V-------------------------- LED+ LED- ----------------Mosfet-----------------gnd (red is connector) Edited... Seems this is it: second schematic = third...
