Re: Seeking sensor designs
Ah, someone who has the idea. Target is passive and fixed, sensors are mobile and active, area of detection from one sensor is no more than 10 feet, minimum 3 sensors platforms (mobile sensor carriers) for triangulation. Platforms know their GPS position to less than 10cm. Medium is ice. Search area...

Re: Seeking sensor designs
I think what LORAN does is the opposite of what I need. I am looking at several antennae, on moving, separate platforms, being used to triangulate and verify one object. This is similar to what is done to track non-GPS phones using the cell towers for triangulation. My application is using a target ...

Wow, more than 10 days and still no response. Does anyone but me visit this board? This is an offer to give people money for their good ideas, and no takers.

Re: I need some servo information
How much linear movement and ft/lbs is necessary to activate the throttle? I ask because I have two solutions, one pretty much out of the box, and one that is creative but takes more work. You will also want to include a "return to Zero" for the throttle in case of failure of controls if y...

Re: Darpa Grand Challenge
2005 will be our second year to enter the competition. If you look into our history, you'll see that we entered last year but withdrew once our vehicle was sold. Long story, see our site for more info. This time we plan on some more innovation, maybe fuel cells and more interesting locomotion. I hop...

Seeking sensor designs
VIDEOptions is currently seeking an engineer (students and non-degreed individuals encouraged to apply) to design a sensor platform for our newest robotics platform. We need someone who has a lot of creativity, but can design a reliable sensor. We seek a wave propogation/interference sensor, similar...

Re: Darpa Grand Challenge
Matthew, A hovercraft is actually an excellent idea, and the terrain handling is typically better in some aspects than ground based, but also has a few drawbacks. My company has built a few hovercraft surveillance models for various customers, and here is what our experience has found. It is explici...
