Re: Kronos Flyer Series

I now have a sudden "opportunity" to add the component platform since, due to pilot error, I dropped the quad straight down from about 10 meters up... I had my mode switches wrong and after a minute or so I panicked and down it came. The motor mounts absorbed most of the energy from the cr...

Re: Kronos Flyer Series

Nice article #6 in Servo...and I see you're now offering the Isolation platform which means I can get rid of my "temporary" platform. I'm traveling for a few days but when I get back I'll take and post some video of the Flyer in action. I'm a brand new pilot and spent quite a bit of time o...

Re: Kronos Flyer Series

I spent the last couple of weeks tuning, flying, tuning, etc. Being a newbie pilot I'm quite careful (read timid..!) at the controls, so I'm not really trying to check out performance aspects. Overall, after tuning the APM, the Kronos Flyer is proving to be a great platform for responsive flying and...

Re: Kronos Flyer Series

I got my Kronos flyer in the air today with pretty good results. Here are the build facts: Kronos flyer with motor extensions, Futaba 8 FG Tx and Rx, Ardupilot APM 2.9.1 w/Blox GPS I flew for about 25 minutes total and found controls to be overly sensitive so I'll start experimenting with the tuning...

Re: Kronos Flyer Series

Thanks...I went ahead and built a cable, but only ran the signal wires which cut down on the bulk, and its up and running. I'll now go through the final tuning and calibration this week. It looks like the APM guys have a fix for the S-bus which involves flashing the PPM encoder with a new version to...

Re: Kronos Flyer Series

Did you use PPM mode on your APM 2.5/Futaba 8FG set up? I cannot get the APM to recognize the PPM signal. I am using the following: APM 2.5 with 2.9.1 firmware Futaba TX - 8FG Super in Mult2, airplane mode, standard setup, etc. Futaba RX - 6208SB using S Bus output (same results in HS and normal mod...

Re: Kronos Flyer Series

Nice looking cover illustration of the Kronos flyer on the latest Servo! I've got everything ready for the build but just finishing up a built-in project in the house...a medium size electronic/drone-building workbench which closes up. Not the biggest, but at least I'm up in the warm house instead o...

Re: Kronos Flyer Series

Just received the last of my orders from Hobby King, Kronos Robotics (frame kit), and others, and will begin the build after the holiday. After a whole bunch of research, or maybe indecision(!), I've decided to go with the Arducopter flight controller. It's my first multi-rotor, or helicopter for th...
