Re: 3000 watt inverter
Thanks for the reply, This whole thing started when I ordered a battery isolator and the sales man got to talking about the load on the aux batteries, and how the isolator was only good for about 90 amps so to keep the isolator safe he recomends 25 feet of #8 wire from the isolator to the aux batter...

3000 watt inverter
I have a maxx sst 3000 watt inverter, I cant seem to find the full load specs, the book says its 90% efficient, and can put out 27 amps on the ac side, does this mean that it will draw 30.4 amps( 10% more than 27 amps) on the dc side? I also need to measure the amp draw of the inverter while in use,...

headphone jack to line level
what's the best way to plug a headphone jack into a line level amp? I want to plug my ipod into my car stereo system and since my amp has an extra couple of rca jacks, I know I could just keep the volume down on the ipod but I cant trust the rest of the family. Is there a good web site that has the ...

Re: Circuit Specialists Opinion?
I have used them many times in the past and have had good service, they do have great prices and have always been fair, but on occasion have been a little lofty in there attitudes, I would'nt have a second thought about using them.

charging golf cart batteries
I am building an ice cream truck and I plan on using inverters for power instead of generators because of the noise and cost per day to run, I am going to use 4 golf cart batteries rated at 6v/215AH and are the lead-acid type, they will be in series and parallel to give me 12 volts and 430 amp hours...

4 channel 100 watts per channel, not sure but I think it is rms, it is a fairly new amp that was in a car I bought but had a new system put in it. I build arcade games for people and thought it would be nice to use in one, I like the way it looks and with a window mod in the game it would give it th...

Re: Sound Recording Chip
For all most all of the projects I do with sound I use blue point engineering you should be able to find what you need here.
web page
But if you want the diy approach try the ISD chips, I built a kit using the ISD4003 and was pleased with it. web page
[ January 26, 2005: Message edited by: ...

Re: 120VAC control from basic stamp?
any time the ac mains is involved, you should use a opto isolator if your not using a solid state relay. http://www.nteinc.com/graphics/diag152e.gif
If you are using a solid state relay the you can connect it stright to the relay, you will need a dropping resistor to keep from damaging the input ...

auto amp
What would be the best way to power a 400 watt amp. from the mains? it is a automotive amp (12v) and I would like to use it but I am not sure if it would be worth the cost. I need about 30 amps 12volt dc.
