Re: OBD II Scan Tool using PIC micro
Google to Harrison R&D. You can buy an assembled unit or buy the parts to build your own unit. The assembled unit works very well. Good Luck.

Re: Digital display in fuel meters for cars
I have owned 3 Lincoln Town Cars with digital dashes. The first was is a 1981 model. The digital dash computes the miles to empty and warns at 50 miles. It computes the the mpg. All three I have owned have been very accurate. If you are willing to spend the money for a shop manual I am sure you can ...

Re: PBC Pokes and Peeks
Thank you for the explanation Colin. I did get my counter to work after a lot of trial and error. Do you know of any pic basic book or tutorial that deals with manipulating the available registers? Chuck Hellebuyck "Programming Pic Microcontrollers With PicBasic" briefly delves into the su...

PBC Pokes and Peeks
I am using a pbc compiler to try and program a 16F84 pic. It is my understanding, from the books that I have, that the STATUS, Option, and INTCON registers can be poked and peeked. Does anyone have a pic basic rountine that can accomplish this task? Why does the 16F84 have a status register in BANK ...

Re: pic counting
Hello Colin, The PicBasic Compiler I am using is from Micro Engineering Labs, Inc. There is no version number. I am just curious as to where the count is stored when using RA4 and how you would you move the count to the output. Lets keep it simple by counting pulses between 1 and 10. I know that you...

Model Railroading
Just received a Garden Railroad set for Christmas.
The engine speed, direction, and whistle are controlled by buttons which inject signals into the track that are picked up by the engine. Does anyone have any ideas how this is done.

I just purchased a radio control vehicle called "Bobcat". It is a buldozer with a crane attached. The problem is that I bought it without the transmitter. The main chip is an Rx 58 and it has a logo with the letter RMC. Is any one familiar with the chip? Is there an easy way to find out wh...

Re: MOTION DETECTION
What I am really looking for is a means of detecting motion with the x10 cameras and triggering a vcr to record with out using the x10 motion detectors. I have found that the x10 motion sensors do not have enough power when used outside of a stucco building. I would like to avoid using a pc as part ...
