Re: SPAMHAUSE ip blocker issues,,

WOW! Glad to hear something is being done. I have not been able to log in for a month or so. Even tried to open a new account, but the "e-mail confirmation" never arrived.

I truly wish I had the technical expertise to help with the proliferation of spam on this site.
Us that have been here for awhile have gained much knowledge and joy from NV, but that joy is dissipating.

Re: Crypto Mining

Like real estate, it depends on location. Suburbs and rural have the best chance to "get in early", before all the hexes are filled up.

"PS: We don't need two postings on the same subject."? I don't see multiple postings, only that last unrelated bot called rexcarter.

Helium Hotspot

Anybody need a challenging project? I was looking at purchasing a Helium Hotspot in order to accumulate HNT tokens (Helium Non-fungible Tokens). The tokens can be cashed into US Dollars. Won't describe the whole system, but more info at https://www.helium.com/ The demand for these hotspot boxes is c...

What can you do to avoid another strike? Maybe lightning rods?

Re: off grid solar project

qeuker- What is required is a "Solar Charge Controller"- it charges the battery when the battery needs it, and prevents overcharge.
As to getting the most out of low sun/high sun, that takes a Maximum Power Point Controller. It optimizes the panel output depending on incoming sun intensity.

Re: off grid solar project

Congratulations Externet! I'm glad you went with waaay more than 200 watts solar! Lot less hassle without storage batteries too! I had net metering at my last house, with 4.6 KW of panels, and waited to get a check from the power company. In New York, they "even up" once per year to see wh...
