Re: What keeps me up late!

The only place in the planet that does not adopt the metre is the United States. So why are UK speed limits in miles per hour? Road speed limits in the United Kingdom https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Road_speed_limits_in_the_United_Kingdom Different types of speed limit signs in the UK http://mocktheo...

If you are traveling at the speed of light and turn on your headlights, does anything happen?

I have a metric Crescent Wrench.

Re: CNC ROUTER MACHINE (not a network router!)

I design & layout in Eagle 6.4.0 and used pcb-gcode-3.6.0.4 to generate single pass G-code to engrave & drill with Mach3Mill. I am milling on an aluminum plate that was milled flat. The board is held in place with double sided carpet tape. I flexed the board a little to take the bow out of it. When ...

Re: almost 10 days and no activity here... sad.....

almost 10 days and no activity here... this site is really going down hill.. guess everyone has found other sites to use with more action.. That is why I checked in. This was my first & only forum for a lot of years. When things slowed down here, maybe 2007, I found ETO & frequented both. Eventuall...

Re: DEAD Canon VC-C4R cameras

In 1992 I bought a Canon E40 camcorder for $500.00 or more with accessories. With very little use, it wouldn't go into play mode. I got it into play mode with the remote. I rewound a little bit and pressed play. The picture was jagged and then it stopped and was flashing eject but it wouldn't eject....

Old DOS Qbasic is almost the same as the C64 and is free. There should be plenty of info and sample programs on the internet. I still use GW Basic for quickies and LPT1 I/O but Q basic has a better GUI with mouse and cut / paste. If you put a shortcut to it on your desktop, you would almost think it...

I have been wanting to and should build something like that as an application for my own product but I only need 2 axis. Maybe this would motivate me and we can work something out. If you PM me, I will look into it.

Philba was nice enough to send those chips to me. I have quite a few of the ones listed below. A lot of others, I have not very many but more than I need. Some are LS but most are not. They were swept up from the floor where he worked so some have bent pins. You are welcome to some at the same deal ...

You might look into the 4051 bilateral switch chip. 8 analog inputs addressable to 1 analog output. 2 of those would get you from 16 down to 2 inputs. Then 2 A/DCs.

I work on a 1955 Chris Craft boat with a Cadillac engine and 2 4 barrel carbs. One high speed trip burnt most of the spark plug electrodes and a hole in 1 new piston. The original fuel pump was too weak so it was way lean at high RPM. A high volume electric fuel pump solved the problem.

I found a good home for that SSB. A neighbor walking past offered me a tiny floor jack because he got a big one for Christmas. Noticing his 75’ or better ham antenna, I asked if he wanted a broken SSB. He said his hobby is fixing radios and was happy as hell to get it. So it looks like I have a ne...
