wow, that sounds like quite a project. i would suggest, since you had to ask this question in the first place, that you start with something on a smaller scale and a little less dangerous.<p>i imagine radar or laser scanning would be appropriate but for $$$ and maybe difficult for a beginner.<p>good...

does anyone know where i can buy the mx614 modem chip. its used in homebrew amateur radio packet modems but seems pretty rare. can anyone suggest an alternative?<p>thanks,

can anyone think of a way to take serial data into a pic and convert it from logic pulses to audio (serial data) tones to be transmitted via amateur radio, say using two pics?<p>i found a modem chip (mx614) but it is very hard to purchase. i thought using two pics, i could eliminate the modem but i ...

Does anyone have any experience doing FM RF data rather than using those cheap AM data modules? i would like to use FM for my robotic project, i have an amateur radio license. any help would be appreciated.
