Re: ASTC 3.0 or NextGen TV..........
Most of the DIY antennae I've seen have been of the Bowtie style. My dear, departed brother-in-law made a decent sized version thereof and hung it in his garage attic and received all the OTA stations withing a 90 mile radius. Only thing he had in his way, other than his own wooden structure, were t...

Re: Is Nuts and Volts dead ?
Dang. I must have posted that late at night. I was reading another thread somewhere must've thought I was there. At least it kept the thread going / made some content. On a related note, I bought the latest BWM magazine in the local store. It is a nicer print job and it promises to be more sturdy th...

Just what we need, more planned obsolescence in order to keep the companies in business. Kind of makes me wonder why wee need such super high resolution when the most popular shows were made for NTSC.

Re: Send Sound Across Livingroom Wirelessly
Well, there are a number of things you can do from RF to infrared to other light source transmission, but there is another newer option. Not sure if it is out yet. Check out this CES update from ToidsDIY: https://www.youtube.com/live/8xmL299Sxp ... 33k&t=1947

So sorry to hear about Penny.
Broke a piston rod? That's not too common.
Yeah, my garden started off like gangbusters, but by mid summer things were not so strong. Plus we had a rabbit in the yard that the dog couldn't catch.

Several: My youngest's Realistic Clarinette stereo ( see one of my previous posts under General ) will be getting an upgrade in the output department. Re: USB C at 240 watts, how?
Well, I believe that it works! I once had over 200 amps flowing through a length of #22 AWg. It worked well for about 0.0001 seconds! Yes indeed, it did pass the 200 Amp benchmark! You think you know a lot, then you learn more, and realize you knew nothing! That reminds me of the old Amplifi...

There used to be an on-line.antenna calculator, but it disappeared some time back. The ARRL probably has something or can point you in the right direction.

Re: microphone parabolic
There was one, many years ago, that used a parabolic dish you could get from Edmund Scuenrific. Yeah, that'll never happen. You would be best off going with a newer version, possibly using an Ikea bowl for the reflector. The rest is all generally the same parts they've been for years.
