Yeah, I have a few detectors, but do not really know all the details when it comes to good coil design. I am sure there are numerous factors that will help with depth issues. I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas. I have a house out in the desert and thought it would be fun to just run around...

large search coil for metal detector
I recently read an article in wired as well as seeing 'best places to find treasure....' or something like that where this guy towed a huge search coil for a metal detector behind him on a quad. Anyone have an idea on how I could make a large search coil, maybe 5x5 or so to tow behind my quad to loo...

Need some programming in VB
I need a simple interface that will allow you to record 'routines' that control up to 4 low volt/low amperage devices through a serial port. I have some existing software that will give you an idea of what I am looking to do as well as a bunch of these controllers. I imagine you can use them for alm...

Re: Reversing Rotation of 115V Table Saw Motor
Thanks everyone for all the input. The old motor actually states that it is reversible on the plate by reversing the wires. But on this second motor, it does not state the same information. They are both from the same company, same HP, etc...
The old motor appears to be in better condition, but i...

Reversing Rotation of 115V Table Saw Motor
The last motor I had on my table saw went bad and the industrial parts liquidators by my house only had 1 that rotates the opposite direction for what I need. It would be a major hassle to remount the motor, so I am trying to find out if I can rewire it to change the rotation from CCW to CW.
It is...

Need to hire someone to build sound/audio to light modul
I would like to pay someone to send me a working example for a 7x7 matrix bar graph display. Each bar would respond to a different frequency with input through a mic. I would like to use ultra-brite LEDs for the project. Any advice would be greatly appreciated as well. Please contact me for more det...

Re: need inexpensive linear motion
Thanks guys! I have tested a few of these in the past and they seem to work out fairly well in my larger project... What I am looking for now is to get the most torque with the smallest amount of room...
I need some type of small gear box so I can use some inexpensive hobby motors geared down to ...

help wanted - motor control device
I can't seem to find the time to do this myself, so I am looking for someone to help me build a device that will control up to 4 low amp motors with varying sequences. I would like a fairly simple way to select different pulsing patterns or select a 'random' way of going through the different sequen...

need inexpensive linear motion
I need an inexpensive way to get about 1" - 2" of linear motion. I have a few ideas on how I can do this, but was hoping to find some inexpensive pre-made components with gear boxes or whatever. Would need to push/pull approximately 5 lbs of pressure.
I am currently using a cam driven s...
