Re: Threaded interpretive languages
If your chip (whichever one it is, you didn't bother to say) supports alternate register sets, then they are probably aliases for locations in low memory already. Look for something like a "register base pointer" or "register base index".
Editor Dan

Re: Stamp reading RC Receiver signal to servo
A 10K resistor to ground will deal with this open loop capacitance nicely. I used a Basic Stamp to read my Futaba R/C receiver signals in 1996 - but back then the receivers generated a real 5 volt square wave. These days it's closer to 3.3 V - so beware!
Dan

"I would appreciate any comments; perhaps I am taking the wrong view on this?"
We at the magazine share your view, Dave. We recently updated the writer's guidelines to require at least object code for projects containing programmable parts, with both source and object files preferred. I ...

Re: Servo Control Voltage
Most of the newest Futaba R/C receivers generate a 3.3v control signal, while shunting the raw Rx battery voltage to the power lead of the servo. The idea of using a diode inline is good, as long as the 0.6v ding doesn't keep the servo from working. On a recent 14 servo signal reprocessor, I used so...

Re: Any hints on how to buld pedometer?
If you open up the February 2003 issue of our magazine, the winning entry for the TI MSP430 design contest was a multi-function accelerometer. One of the functions was a pedometer.
Dan

With a dash of cleverness you could build your own Bullet Time capture unit for about $300...
Dan
