Re: Stamp 2 Traffic Light
One more possibility is to use a shift register for serial in/parallel out. I recently ran across a chip designed for driving 35 LEDs by National, a MM5451. However, it appears to be discontinued. Such an interface would require two wires for the data transfer: the data signal and a clock signal. It...

Does anyone know what protocol Texas Instruments graphing calculators use?
I am thinking of making a device to send data such as variables from a PIC chip to a graphing calculator and I was wondering what kind of provisions I need to make for such a design. The PIC would not be doing anything els...

Re: computer supply in project?
You would almost certainly need more than one computer power supply. I have strung computer supplies in series before, but I used the 5v line for my application. You would need to put on a load resistor on the 5v line for it to regulate properly. You could string two supplies together using the +12v...

Re: stable clock timer..for a different LED clock
I once tried to derive 60hz by desterline's method, but for some reason it never would work. What I ended up doing was use a 555 chip to basically amplify the ripple peaks on the unregulated side of a 7805. It took some planning, and I needed a scope to get the 555 to trigger right, but it worked (u...

drill bits
Hello
I have been told that regular drill bits dull quickly when drilling through PC boards. What kind of drill bit do I need to use, or what is another solution to this problem?
Thank you,

Debouncing Switches
Hello
What would be a good way of debouncing a momentary switch without using a 555 or a lot of components?
It would be used for PIC or TTL inputs, by the way.
Thanks.

Electronix Express
I would like to know what everyone's experience with Electronix Express. Good, bad, tips, anything. The reason I ask is because there appears to be little recent information about this company, which makes me uneasy ordering from them.
Electronix Express website
Thanks a lot
[ August 07, 200...

Would the process work backwards? Could you hook up a phone to the terminal, and call a number with Caller ID and read the result?
Just a thought.

Re: WTB for friend: Cheap 12V 20A supply
Each individual supply that I have worked with has tied the chassis to ground, as well as the 0 volt line (black output wire). Assuming that the supplies are run off of grounded outlets, they will be at the same potential.
If you connect the +5 volt line in one supply to the 0 volt line in anothe...
