Yep...I want to build this as a practical project....so a micro and relays it is.

Now...the philosophy has been decided. Onto the actual design.

Len, Thanks for chiming in. I will try the cap trick on the NAS. That was a good aside. I think I will go the micro route because I might think of some other intelligence to build into it. (Like sensing loss of power and then performing my newly created "controlled boot sequence") I'll have to think...
