I've heard of this before. I'm with the person who posted this on the feedback...
wow that's amazing ... even with 'dirt cheap labor', you'd think the cost of assembling one of those would be greater than just making the real deal.

BGA's for DIY
Does anyone have any experience with BGA chips? I am looking at using a 16 pin BGA, but wondering how to mount it on a PCB. My first thought was to "dead-bug" it. Lay it on its back, glue it down to the PCB, and run hookup wire to the legs. My next thought was to solder some cut off resist...

patch cord supplier
I am looking for a source for short (4-6 inch) 3.5mm male to male stereo patch cords. I can find 6 foot ones and longer really cheap, but can only find onesies or twosies of the shorter ones. Surely there is a distributor where I can find these in quantities of 25 each or so. I've searched Newark,Di...

I did a quick look through some catalogs with no results. You may have some luck with Dialight. Their LEDs only go to 230VAC in the Newark catalog, but Newark doesn't carry everything that they offer. Would neon be acceptable? That might be easier and cheaper - not that I have looked into it! Best o...

Not necessarily a recommendation for this usage, but still on topic. One of my favorite cheap ways of measuring current is to insert a one ohm resistor in line. Then run leads from each side of the resistor up to a cheap voltmeter. Ohms law makes it real easy to convert the voltage drop to an ampera...
