Re: looking for brain signal mearsurement circuit

Hello Dave,
I was toying with this one
http://openeeg.sourceforge.net/doc/index.html
it works and its great!
Check it out.
It is based on atmels at90S4433P
AVRs are mics I play with so I had no problems with software dev. etc.
Good luck!
Sam
Ps Im sure there are folks working on PICs

Re: Choosing a good starter microcontroller

Im avr atmel fan big time. Its cheap and easy to use. I made my own programmer etc. All on low student budget. There is lots of great web pages with avr atmel related data, projects etc and some good books. Freeware software is also available for development. AVR is very popular in academic env.
...

Re: Circuit Common?

Hi Zeek, Circuit common can be ground in terms of ground ground (such as the one on some prof. power supplies; battiers are not conncted to it and neither are wall warts).
Circuit common is just like a level in appartment building which you call common or start counting ground it can be something ...

Re: TV as an Oscilloscope

Michael did you check links I gave you? Bruces article in circuit cellar gives you exact schematic how to build it. Paper costs $ 1.15. check it out. Schem. is free for download. good luck with it its simple to build. Sam PS but as said before it doesn't do 100 MHz
[ December 22, 2003: Message edi...

Re: TAB books

Hello Greybie,
I got the TAB electronics guide to understanding electricity and electronics by G. Randy Slone short time ago and on page 234 it talks about thermal runaway and implications of it on bipolar transistor amplifiers.
Take care. Sam

yeah K7 maximum sample rate is 15.75 kHz which is the NTSC video line rate! Good point. Not sure about the project now as well :-( Sorry Michael

Re: Any hints on how to buld pedometer?

Thanks a bunch everyone!!! Dan I checked the ftp files for from nuts and volts. Awesome! I missed february issues but I got it from friend now :-). The merucury part seems very tricky ie the switch! Im not sure how stable it is with different people, different spet lengths, esp if you are walking up...

Re: Does 1μK63 label mean component is capacitor?

thanks Russ indeed it was cap. I did just what you said. I wanted to measure it in my multimiter cap measuring holes but legs were too short so I used your tip.
Take care, Sam

Does 1μK63 label mean component is capacitor?

Sorry again for bothering. I got components with this label, two legs, blue color its box or qaud shaped not round as usual and legs are both down not axial. Im not sure if those are capacitors of value 1μF with K=10% tolerance and voltage 63 or some other element.
Sorry for dumb newbie question. ...

Hi everyone,
I got five blue, quad. shaped elements with
1uK63 on one side and 1PN or 1R2 on the other side.
What are those? Box shaped capacitors? of 1 micro F, 63 V tolerance 10% is my guess but Im not sure.
Thanks!
S

Re: Which Micro Controller to Choose?

I am at learning stage with mics and I am using Atmel AVRs. I love them. Including all available formus at avrfreaks, Like the book I got by Gadre, I have free dev. systems two one in C and one in Basic (bascom Basic for AVR) they work great inspite the limits. Atmel is well spread in academia. That...

I like Practical Electronics for Inventors by Paul Scherz and Robot Builder's Bonanza by Gordon McComb.
For Math I find Kreyszigs Advanced Engineering Mathematics great.
And yes Art of electronics is over my level in Electronics but I might get there some day :-) I just bought it few weeks ago....
