I do not recall the project you are referring to. I do recall a tachometer project and an RC battery monitor. I normally would use my battery powered multimeters to test automotive problems. I have a plug that goes into the accessory (cigarrette lighter) and is used for ham/CB radio. It has banana j...

When i was maybe 5 i was fascinated that i could make the Christmas Tree lights blink on and off, by simply plugging and unplugging them in and out of the wall... Ah, the joys of Christmas lights! I was about five when I learned to troubleshoot dead Christmas lights. Usually I would use a working s...

Thou, the Pay Channels didn't last that long around here. A lot of people at the time still owned old Tube Televisions. By tweaking the tuner just right, you could get the channel in for awhile until the scrambling scheme changed. But that didn't happen till after the show, or movie ended. It must ...

With a properly adjusted height, this data would not be seen as it would be hidden by the bezel around the screen. It is the data stream for Closed Caption and is on line 21 of the video. See the article at:

Does it look similar to this? http://protectedkids.com/library/PA_Personal_Alarm.jpg If so, this is a personal safety alarm. You pull the lanyard (or key ring) and the alarm goes off. Put the lanyard back in and it turns off. Possibly this fell off someone's key ring while the were driving. When the...

Must be! Nobody else seemed to notice he intends to put entire window air conditioner in trunk with only condensation vented to outside. Except dacflyer and Janitor Tzap, they're talking about amps. I know my first post in this thread was kind of long and could have been ignored. But I stated putti...

There are numerous inverters working just fine in cars and trucks. As long as you get the wiring gage right, you should be okay. Do realize you will be drawing over 170 amps at full load which is more than your standard alternator can provide. Sorry to put engineering into this project. And I'll con...

Do US gas stations still all have all their fuel prices end in 9/10? It's no longer legal here. People got tired of that crap. Still legal here. Bunch of crap l like you stated. But I have another problem with gas stations..... I drive a car with a 42 gallon tank. Gas is $3.859 a gallon. The pumps ...

Another thing that works to break the nuts is the X bar with a nice piece of pipe about 2 feet long. The pipe has to have a diameter that slips over either end of the X bar and that acts as a long handle. The spinner wrench at home was next to the long pipe I use to do this very thing. My pipe is a...

I should close out this topic. The only viable solution was to use step down transformers and LED indicators for a lower voltage. It was not my first choice but it works great. Instead of putting the lights in the bypass panel as is done traditionally, we mounted the transformers and LEDs in a box m...

12V Impact Wrench
I had the unfortunate experience of having to change a flat tire today. Normally not a problem. But it was 90+ at noon (direct sun) when I did this. My "spinner" X lug wrench was at home so I had to use the junk factory stuff. The X lug is now in the car. But I wanted opinions about anyone...
