Re: Laser Diode, PIN questions (Voltaic Mode?)...
Hi, Chris; I've been to Nichia --- but a recent foray did not show data for my diode. Leaving me to think that maybe MINE is OBSOLETE. Lovely --- it was hundreds of bucks. (but LESS than the $1000 that THEY wanted) It came still sealed...
My dialup is kinda slow; so I can see PDF format, but I kee...

Laser Diode, PIN questions (Voltaic Mode?)...
First, thanx to Chris on the IRLED thread for the assistance. I thought it a good idea to open a new thread rather than to continue to deviate that one...
I have a Nichia purple laser diode (407nm), rated for 5mW (7max). It does contain a PIN, but both PIN and LD cathodes are common. I have used a...

Re: idiot question
I'm not aware of anyone selling digital cable descramblers . There are many who SAY they do, but they really sell a NOTCH filter; this connects to your cable line, and notches out the communications line from your box to your cable company --- preventing your box from reporting movies that you watch...

Re: ¿ A very different approach for circuit boards ?
Man --- I have just spent MONTHS trying to get my keyboard to work. Rather than buy a new $100 from CTX (this is a laptop), I bought a USED laptop keyboard; which ofd course didn't have the correct matrix, nor the cable in the right place. How do you connect wires to a laminated encapsulated flimsy ...

Re: Infrared LED's
Thanx, Chris. Yes I know about mistakes; I was playing with a sample of a 635 three-mW diode from Toshiba (they didn't know that I'm one of many who would NEVER USE TOSHIBA PARTS). Carefully adjusted the drive current, and -FLASH!- it was history. Hitachi then sampled two 5mW 635 diodes...
As I sa...

OK pardon my denseness, what is "dcma"??? (I'll probably feel SILLIER after you ANSWER...)
No I don't have a website; and not in sales. I had applied for a job selling components; as far as I know I HAD the job, but she never called back. And I never called HER back (maybe it was a TEST)...

Re: Infrared LED's
CHRIS --- will that drive circuit work on a Nichia purple laser diode? I've had one for a couple years but never had the courage to power it; at the time I got it, it was selling in sample quantities for $1000. I do NOT have the blue laser diode, it was $3000...
The bad side is that it has cathode...

Re: Shortwiring AC/DC power adapter
I put a surface-mount 317 (soic) and chip resistor in an "N" guage 2-6-0 switcher engine (steam), to power an angel-hair-bulb (that's smaller than a grain-of-rice , it's the size used in wrist watches). Bulb is mounted in the tiny headlamp, comes on at very slow speeds, locks at a yellow c...

Chris --- click here. (I was gonna just post the URL 'cause it was short, but after my other post I just KNEW someone would call me on it...) ;)
And it only has a bit over a thousand schematics, I think. Some genius actually offered to SELL this url on ebay for 20 bucks last month (he said it too...

Re: Video Camera Detector Schematic?
Yes jammers are illegal here (USA). They seem to be illegal in UK also. They're illegal for the reason that someone's afraid you'll block an emmergency call to a doctor or something. I can't imagine the harm in having a portable unit that you only turn on AFTER a jerk interrupts the movie. And I can...

I wouldn't use a linear device (transistor/lm317); motors suck current, so a linear controller will get very hot. Visit www.mpja.com, and buy one of his two motor-controller-kits, or build your own. Output a square-wave, and control the duty cycle (time on vs time off...
